Headline: Face TV series on child poverty

CPAG is delighted to support a new TV series about child poverty in Aotearoa created by lawyer, journalist and social activist Catriona MacLennan.
The first episode of the six-part series screens on Sky Channel 83 Face TV tomorrow (14 May) and gives an overview of child poverty in New Zealand in the lead up to the 2014 budget.

The first episode of the six-part series screens on Sky Channel 83 Face TV tomorrow (14 May) and gives an overview of child poverty in New Zealand in the lead up to the 2014 budget.
Subsequent episodes focus on key issues including health, housing, education, early childhood education and care, and family incomes. Catriona MacLennan will talk to leading experts from a range of disciplines and organisations about the impact of poverty on children and practical solutions for change.
CPAG spokesperson Janfrie Wakim said, “CPAG has sponsored the series to raise public awareness of child poverty in New Zealand in the lead up to the general election. Catriona’s commitment to exploring this issue and her strong focus on solutions is impressive and we hope the series will encourage political parties to include detailed policies in their manifestos to address child poverty.”
