Headline: Green Party saddened by death of Bev Grammer
Bev was passionate about disabled people being able to participate fully in the community. She developed and facilitated disability awareness workshops for a whole range of organisations.
The Green Party expressed sadness at the passing today of Bev Grammer.
“We were deeply saddened to hear of the death of former Disabled Persons Assembly president and disability issues advisor Bev Grammer,” Green Party disability issues spokesperson Mojo Mathers said today.
“Bev was a staunch and effective advocate of disability rights who made a significant contribution to disability issues in New Zealand.
“Bev worked for many years in the Bay of Plenty as a leader on disability issues and rights until she became a national figure in the disability sector.
“Bev was passionate about disabled people being able to participate fully in the community. She developed and facilitated disability awareness workshops for a whole range of organisations.
“Her leadership will be greatly missed by many,” Ms Mathers said
The Green Party pays tribute to Bev’s spirit and sends our best wishes to her family at this time of sadness.
