I will gladly donate to Russel Norman’s defence fund against Colin Craig’s politically inspired and insipid defamation case

Colin Craig has embarrassed himself by deciding to continue with his politically inspired and insipid defamation action against Russel Norman.

I think his decision reeks of weakness and an inability to comprehend that politically it looks desperate. Colin’s political advisors have mistaken headlines about Colin with what those headlines are saying to voters, because what it says about Colin is here is a politician who can say pretty extreme things about women and homosexuals and yet when he gets called on those comments, he runs off to the lawyers under the guise of ‘fair political debate’.

This began as bullying of Russel Norman and is now face saving for Colin. If Colin Craig decides upon this type of chilling use of legal action to stifle political comment of our political leaders, it’s the responsibility of all conscious citizens to donate to Russel’s legal defence.

  1. If it’s legally wrong for Russel Norman to say what he said would it have been okay for him to have simply said “Colin Craig is an idiot”?

  3. Strategically it isn’t very smart for Craig. He could find himself under attack from multiple parties simultaneously – it is after all election year. So far he is taking on Norman, but there are other political parties and bloggers all with an opinion of him which he may not like. Now all it would take is for a couple more people to make statements arguably worse …

  4. Didn’t David Parker say he’d defend Russel Norman for free? Colin Craig is only suing Russel to stay in the news. If it wasn’t for this would anyone be talking about him right now?

  5. Shit, I thought the banner at the top of this article was part of the new Air New Zealand safety video. I would hope that young Kiwi women were exactly as promiscuous as they wanted to be, and were able to do it without being judged. Furthermore, I would hope that they had access to safe and effective contraception and were able to make their own decisions. I wish Colon Craig and his idiotic followers would give up sex altogether. Given their stated desires to bash their kids, they should all be neutered.
