A New Zealand woman has been arrested in Bali on drugs charges, reminding us all of the dangers of facing allegations of being in possession of drugs in South East Asian countries.

New Zealander Leeza Tracey Ormsby (aged 36), also known as Leeza Morrison, was taken into custody after Bali police raided a villa in the Denpasar suburb of Dalung.

Bali police allege Ms Ormsby was found with Ecstasy, MDMA, Methamphetamine and marijuana.

Originally from Wellington, New Zealand, Ms Ormsby is believed to have lived in Sydney, New South Wales for some years.

New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs last night told media: “The Consul from the New Zealand Embassy in Jakarta is providing consular support and has visited the New Zealander. The Embassy’s role is to monitor the New Zealander’s welfare and ensure that they have the same rights as other detainees in Indonesia.”

After years of shaky Cricket… New Zealand’s international Cricket side, the Black Caps, has truly hit form.

Its captain Brendon McCullum this week scored 302 runs with the bat against India, breaking the all time record held by Martin Crowe since 1991… of 299 runs.

And in his first test match, Jimmy Neesham notched up 137 runs, the highest score ever for a No 8 batsman, and only the 10th Kiwi to score a century in a test debut..

The Kiwis took the test match back off India, after the tourists built a commanding lead in the first innings. But after a strong comeback the Kiwis forced a draw and a series test win against the world’s second best team.

The Black Caps also beat India and West Indies in homes series wins over this summer.

The team heads to Bangladesh in March to compete in the World Twenty 20 tournament.
