There are so many amazing moments in NZ Journalism this week. Watching the msm be led by Judith Collins and Anne Tolley to attack a Maori woman as a hypocrite for wearing clothes they themselves buy without any self critical awareness was a genuine highlight. You did wonder how many Journalists commenting on this managed to sleep that night.

My personal favourite was the manufactured furore over Cunliffe supposedly ‘lying’ to the nation over ‘Best Start’. Seeing as much of this manufactured white noise was generated by Patrick Gower who manufactured the leadership challenge that saw Cunliffe punished in the first place, such deafening allegations of liar seem twee. Let’s hope all those msm journalists currently attacking Cunliffe for ‘misleading’ NZ are just as vocal in March if PM is caught out lying in the Kim dotcom case.

But this weeks great moment in NZ Journalism must surely go to Simon Day and Kim Knight for attempting to compare Paul Henry to Jon Stewart. That made me choke over my Sunday coffee more than anything else this wee, congratulations Stuff.co.nz, what an incredible achievement of writing prowess unequaled in our nations literary history. Paul Henry as Jon Stewart, incredible.

  1. I thought piece on the poor deformed cat (has to stand on its back legs and so was nicknamed “Skippy”) looking for a home at the SPCA on TVOne (I think) on Friday’s 6pm news was an outstanding piece of prime time journalism.
