Headline: Congratulations to NZ AIDS Foundation Life Membership award winners
This award is a clear acknowledgement of Kevin’s work for the health of rainbow communities over the last 25 years
The Green Party is very proud of Green MP Kevin Hague for being awarded Life Membership of the New Zealand AIDS Foundation (NZAF).
Kevin was joined in receiving his award by this year’s other recipients Michael Bancroft JP, Tony Hughes QSM and Aunty Wai Mason at last night’s ceremony at Government House in Auckland hosted by the NZAF’s Patron, the Governor-General of New Zealand Lt Gen The Rt Hon Sir Jerry Mateparae.
“This award is a clear acknowledgement of Kevin’s work for the health of rainbow communities over the last 25 years,” Green Party Co-leader Metiria Turei said.
“We are very lucky to have Kevin in the Green Party, and in Parliament where he is continuing to work passionately to improve the health of rainbow communities and the rest of New Zealanders.”
Life membership is awarded by the NZAF to acknowledge the contribution of the recipients’ outstanding contributions to preventing the transmission of HIV and supporting people affected by HIV and AIDS to maximise their health and wellbeing.
“Kevin continues his history of working for the health of vulnerable communities both in Parliament, and by supporting the work of others in the area,” said Mrs Turei.
“Congratulations to Kevin, and all the other recipients for receiving this award acknowledging their shared contribution to giving good lives to those people affected by HIV and AIDS and their families.”
