“Saturday was an important day for Auckland, we lost some good people and have some new faces around the Council table. To Richard and Ann, you worked incredibly hard and did a fantastic job during the first three years of Auckland Council and we should all be grateful for your contribution.
We have much work to do to build on where we have got to. We have to confirm the Unitary Plan, keep a tight rein on rates, and sort transport. That is what we are focused on around the Council table. Making Auckland a success and working with our communities. There are people who would like to distract us from that work, but they don’t have the best interests of our City at heart.”
