Max Rashbrooke, author of Inequality: A New Zealand Crisis is touring Aotearoa currently. This week on Friday, he’s in Nelson at the Victory Community Centre (2 Totara Street, Nelson) at 7.30pm. Saturday is the Global Day of Action for Access to Safe and Legal Abortion. To celebrate, there is a Pro-Choice Picnic at the Albert Park Band Rotunda in Auckland from 2.30-4.30. Bring along a blanket and food (or buy some baked goods from the stall). Learn more about the current (poorly) state of abortion law in New Zealand and catch up with the Pro-Choice Highway as they wend their way south. If the weather is really bad, it’ll move across the road to the Auckland Uni Quad. The Pro-Choice Highway will also be set up earlier on in the day outside the Gus Fisher Gallery (74 Shortland Street) between 1-2pm.

Bryan Bruce, the man behind Mind the Gap, is holding a talk entitled The Difficulties of Making Social Documentary on Friday. Not only will it be really interesting, it’s also a fundraiser for CPAG who are good people doing good things so you should get along and support. Tickets are $20, more details here.
