A brief word on Labour trio’s leadership taxpayer funded campaign…

I’m sorry, what? The media bitching about the taxpayer picking up legitimate costs for democratic participation by those challenging for the leadership of the political opposition?

Really?

REALLY?

That’s the topic of the day? The public pay for this because leaving the costs to be picked up by corporations or big business would end up with a process bought and paid for before democracy even gets a chance to occur.

How the living Christ can this be an issue when this month Key’s Government handed over $30m in corporate welfare to Rio Tinto just to ensure the sale of another one of our publicly owned power companies???

The audacity and double standards of the mainstream media is what are unbelievable here. Key blows $30m on corporate welfare to privatize Meridian but the real problem is 3 challengers for the Opposition leadership using taxpayer dollars to travel around the country to engage in the democratic process?

I’m sorry, I just can’t take this seriously.

  1. Quite agree! And it’s wrong anyway. The Labour Party members and union members who will be attending the meetings will be covering the costs of the meetings with their gold coins in buckets that will be passed round in the time honoured manner. I am sure this is how Labour has funded its meetings for nigh on 100 years.

  2. Lies and hypocrisy settle well with National . And we all know the MSM are over-paid cowards . Their time’s up .

  3. The taxpayer picked up the tab for Tim Groser to globetrot after the WOT top job. Im pretty sure this is better value.
