The government is planning to issue secret orders to service providers when the Telecommunications (Interception Capability and Security) Bill (“TICS Bill”) becomes law to force them to create interception capability for surveillance agencies. This has been approved by cabinet and is therefore official Government policy.

If Key is going to force Telecommunications companies into spying on us and gag them from telling us that they are spying as part of the TICS Bill, then the sibling legislation of the GCSB is the entry mechanism for this mass surveillance.

Despite all the purring assurances, this legislation will led to a mass surveillance state and it must be stopped! Tonight we open the Auckland Town Hall for the very type of civics debate that it is supposed to be used for. I advise everyone to turn up well before 6.30pm to guarantee a seat, once we reach capacity, we can’t take any more in. Do you think this could extend to banks as well? Money slowly disappearing from ones account just to annoy the hell out of the account holder.Nothing can be done about it because the banks are under order to allow the thieving hounds whoops I mean the police access. Not because of the account holders drug deals etc but just because those thieving hounds can and will access your account. Not possible? EG an undercover cop with 2 mill in the bank. Nice work if you can get it.
