This week kicks off with Metiria Turei and Holly Walker taking their Home for Life discussion to Christchurch on Monday night. They’ll be explaining what their package promises for families and how it’ll help them get the healthy home they need. Particularly relevant for Christchurch of course…

Beginning on Wednesday of this week is Slava’s Snow Show. And it looks AH-MAY-ZING. Clowning and snow and magical theatricality. And and and. It’s a very short season, only 5 shows and tickets are selling fast.

On this Saturday, is a Beer Festival with a difference. The Chilli and Hop Festival being thrown by Hallertau will get your taste buds a-tinglin’. This is the second year of the festival after it’s warmly *pun* received debut last year.  There is the NZ Chilli Eating Champs, Local and International Chilli Beers and Chilli Market Stalls.

The Matariki Art Market is on at the Auckland Museum on Sunday. There will be performers and poets, not to mention the oppourtunity to meet Auckland artists and buy some of their lovely art. Whilst you’re there you should also go and check out the Moana-My Ocean exhibition which is WOW. Such a great use of technology, it’s visually striking and will interest all ages.

White Rabbit Red Rabbit continues this week. It’s really quite special. I thought it was very clever and exciting to watch. And raved about it at length here.

ALSO- just opened at the Auckland Art Gallery is the California Design exhibition.  It covers the period on 1930-1965 and covers everything from industrial design to Barbies to clothes to furniture. There will be accompanying Open Late evenings, design talks and Film Screenings.
