Mana Movement – Press Release/Statement:

Headline: MANA Candidate for Ikaroa Rawhiti Te Hamua Nikora “Yeeeeeehaaaaaa!”

“Yeeeeeehaaaaaa!” was the reaction from Te Hamua Nikora upon hearing the news that he had been selected as the MANA candidate for Ikaroa-Rawhiti.

“I am stoked that the Ikaroa-Rawhiti members of the MANA Movement have backed me to be their man for the Ikaroa-Rawhiti By-Election” says Te Hamua.  “I’m really pumped and am ready to go to put my best foot forward for my people of Ikaroa-Rawhiti.  As a son of Ikaroa-Rawhiti, I can think of no better job on earth than representing my people in Parliament”.

“The first thing I want to do is acknowledge the passing of my Uncle Para [Parekura Horomia].  He was a great man who followed in the footsteps of another relation of mine, Apirana Ngata.  He leaves a great legacy for Ikaroa-Rawhiti and I will do my very best to be at every hui and tangi, as he did”.

“Right now I have a great team behind me of dedicated and committed MANA members who are going to deliver pamphlets to every Ikaroa-Rawhiti household, who are going to be standing on busy street corners to wave the MANA flag, and who are going to be with me every step of the way as I travel up and down the entire length and breadth of Ikaroa-Rawhiti”.

“Over the next five weeks I will be pounding the pavements of cities like Gisborne and Hastings, towns like Wairoa and Masterton, suburbs like Wainuiomata and Maraenui, and villages like Tolaga Bay and Porangahau.  I want to meet as many voters of Ikaroa-Rawhiti as I possibly can, to speak with them about the issues that are important to them and the issues that are important to MANA”.

“I’m itching and ready to go.  Roll on tomorrow.  Roll on the by-election.  Roll on June the 29th”.
