Markus Birdman is a fascinating comedian and proof that the snippets you see of an act in a big gala is not indicative of the comedians full body of work. On May 6 at 2pm, Auckland will come together at Aotea Square to oppose New Zealand involvement in war. There were some sparkles this year, there was also a lot more misses than one would have expected. I won’t name and shame the misses, but the words ‘experimental’ were used about a few of the comedians in a way that isn’t positive.

The 5 Star Comedy preview is easily the best comedy preview show in the coemedyfest line up. It has the 10 best international talents which means you are guaranteed an excellent night out with none of the awkward moments of locals stumbling and struggling on stage. While that’s fun, that’s a more Monday night at open mic sadism, this was held on a Wednesday night and I’m wanting bang for my buck midweek.

THEATRE REVIEW: Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat – 4.5 stars

By   /  April 20, 2017  /  Martyn Bradbury, Most Recent Blogs, The Liberal Agenda  /  2 Comments

I never thought for one second that I would be a lover of live musical theatre, but having a 7 year old daughter changes that perspective. It’s a win win.
