Emergency Protest for Peace- Auckland

Protest –
– No to US escalation of wars in the Middle East and Asia.
– An independent investigation into the allegations of war crimes made in Nicky Hager and Jon Stephenson’s book ‘Hit and Run’.
– NZ troops withdrawn from Iraq and Afghanistan, no NZ troops to Syria.
– Welcome refugees.

We live in dangerous times. President Trump is on the war path. An escalation of airstrikes in Syria, the bombing in Afghanistan and the deployment of a fleet to North Korea are all very worrying developments.

Instead of standing up for peace, the NZ government is standing behind the US in these actions. Further, the NZ government and Defence Force have doubled down in their cover up of NZ war crimes, with their refusal to investigate the claims made in Nicky Hager’s recent book “Hit and Run”.

It is really important that we challenge this international escalation in militarism. Instead of supporting the march to war, NZ should be a voice for peace. We should stand up to US imperial aggression, investigate our own potential war crimes, and support the victims of wars by welcoming refugees.

Come along to make your voice heard!
