I love the juxtaposition of this news story…

Satanist group launches campaign to buy warm clothes for the disadvantaged

A “Satanic” campaign to buy warm clothes for disadvantaged people has been blessed by an Auckland reverend, while drawing the ire of Family First.

Satanic New Zealand has launched a “Soles for Satan” Givealittle page to “buy new socks, hats, and warm clothing for homeless shelters and children living in poverty”.

Co-founder Frankie Astro Seven Vegas said the group aimed to challenge religious authority while encouraging public good.

“We’re not in any way anti-Christian, we’re just pro-Satan,” the Dunedin resident said.

The clothes would be donated to KidsCan, Women’s Refuge and a number of homeless shelters.

…so Dunedin Satanists are actually doing more to directly help the homeless, children in poverty and abused women than the bloody Government of NZ!

You now shit has gotten pretty bad when the followers of Lucifer are being more productive in alleviating the pain and suffering of homelessness, child poverty and domestic violence than the National Party.

  1. Lucifer it appears acts in strange and mysterious ways.

Encouraging the National party to belt the hell out of poor people then using his own representatives to provide love and support in response to the agent of evil on earth that is the Tories themselves.

    How contradictory is that.

  2. I doubt the currrent(but lets hope soon to expire)National government will ever display a conscience when it comes to the ordinary people of NZ.
They(National)are too busy courting the rich and those wealthy enough to donate to the NZ National Party in return for say Instant Kiwi citizenship.
Right now English and co are courting China. And who knows the outcome of that e.g Chinese buying fishieries in return(as I said before)a nice donation into the National Party coffers.
I am a New Ager and I applaud what this couple and their followers are doing. They show more caring and unconditional love for others than a National government can ever achieve in a self-absorbed political life-time.

  3. Satanists and God botherers uniting against a common evil…? WTF?
Doesn’t say much for our politicians then.

  4. I see Family First’s resident whinger Bob McCroskie doesn’t like it because “Satanists” are involved.

My invisible friend is better than your invisible friend, huh Bob?

    • LOL! Well put, Simon.

Good on them for helping the kids. I bet it’s more than McCroskie has ever done. Oh, wait, no, McCroskie and his merry band of misfits want bashing brought back for children. . Satan says look after the kids and God wants to give’em the bash. Lovely.

  5. “You now shit has gotten pretty bad…” It’s “know”. For a short article, was it not even worth a spellcheck? Bad form.

    • That’s difficult to determine. But, to be fair, I have the same opinion about any religious person.

  6. Trusted to hand over donations? Compare them to the National Party asset swindling pilferers and these folk would surely come across as angels.
