Guerrilla Culture: Lorde replaces ISIS as viral influencer

When she speaks she roars.

The power of Lorde’s voice online managed to project from the netherworld of cyberspace and tear into the real life last night as she sent out a treasure hunt that saw Aucklanders ripped from their lounge rooms and rushing around town in a confused and curious friction.

The rupture in the space time continuum spewed out Matrix green and scribbled notes.

She followed this up with a very clever guessing game for the name of her album.

She’s pure Guerrilla Culture, her ability to disrupt and hijack our attention is real power.

The music is just the victory lap.

  1. That looks like a car parked up on Kaitangata’s main street after a good autumn harvest. Never knew Lorde had been to Kaitangata ??
I’ve seen Kaizakistanis “ripped from their lounge rooms and rushing around town in a confused and curious friction.” by gun shots, tyres screeching and unnervingly loud explosions all mixed in with shouts, screams and hysterical laughing. So, ya know? Auckland? Been done I’m afraid.

    • Repeated 2.5 mil times in the first 11hrs on youtube. Lorde is on track to unseat bibber’s viral record. Most definitely a Kiwi music industry 1st.

That’s it, I’m out of the music game, even if I was 21, Lorde got in there first and captured this generation.

      I can see it now.

Producer: Cancel Sam, Lorde just rang

  2. I remember when she had the young American women watching on admiringly at one of her concerts.

She definitely is an asset for NZ.

Passionate and intelligent, creative and adventurous.

    Good on her .

  3. Don’t want to come on as a bummer here, however I feel I am allowed to wear two caps.

First cap, great that someone in NZ can make money/fame through their creative endeavours, all power to them.

Second cap, her music sounds to me like it was made made to entertain 13 year old boys and girls, which is fine..but then who am I to judge. Alexandr Solzhenitsyn

‘But a work of art bears within itself its own verification: conceptions which are devised or stretched do not stand being portrayed in images, they all come crashing down, appear sickly and pale, convince no one. But those works of art which have scooped up the truth and presented it to us as a living force – they take hold of us, compel us, and nobody ever, not even in ages to come, will appear to refute them.’

  4. Guerrilla Culture?? What? You think Universal Records are just chilin’ and letting their investment rest on the vagaries of some off the cuff Guerrilla marketing that Lorde thunk up??

  5. She’s pure Guerrilla Culture, her ability to disrupt and hijack our attention is real power.

    Nah, it’s simply marketing.
