Witness says he is suffering alongside disgraced All Black Aaron Smith
The man who recorded Aaron Smith’s toilet liaison with a mystery woman says he is suffering alongside the disgraced All Black.
The man who witnessed Smith slip into a disabled toilet with a mystery woman at Christchurch Airport and then proceeded to record the 10-minute tryst, emailed the Herald saying he “absolutely regretted” going to the media with the story.
He issued a formal apology to Smith and New Zealand Rugby for reporting the story.
The tipster said in the past week he had come in for a lot of flak for his comments, particularly that he noticed the young woman who followed Smith into the toilet cubicle because she was attractive.
Making such candid comments on the mystery brunette’s beauty had caused problems in his own marriage.
“It appears Smith and I have two things in common; we both had eyes on the same female and we are now in the dogbox for it,” he said.
…the ability of the mainstream media to focus on the trivial and the banal has gone to a new place with this bloody story. I didn’t care that Aaron had a romp with a consenting adult, I don’t care that he did it in a toilet, I don’t care about the impact on millions of weet-bix eating Kiwis, I don’t care how he felt, I don’t care how she felt, I don’t care how the families felt. I don’t care how the bloody bathroom felt and I sure as Christ on a bicycle don’t give two flying fucks what the creep who filmed it felt.

What I do care about is how this bullshit eclipsed one of our MPs being kidnapped in international waters and how SERCO managed to lie and deceive us all (with the Governments help) about the true level of violence in their private prison industry. That the bloody NZ Herald is allowing this a second wind into week 2 while a homelessness study goes unread.

I definitely agree. But i wouldn’t bother asking green peace.
There is no such thing as a “free” news channel. Someone has to pay for it either through taxes or advertising. We definitely need tax payer paid independent free to air television news. But where we don’t have that, people have to be prepared to financially support independent media like The Daily Blog.
Just ignore them on this one now Martyn.

The NZ Herald is so desperate to get subscribers they offered free delivery for a month. No thanks, not worth the effort of collecting it and bringing it into the house.
Yesterday in the post was an offer of a free sandwich maker if I signed up.
No thanks. I have enough fire-starting material and there is certainly nothing worth reading in the Herald. I know; I did try it free for a month: utter garbage, blended with propaganda. Which makes me wonder whether the government is heavily subsidizing the Herald in order to get the propaganda delivered to the masses.
