What stops Key’s Fourth Term?

A pathological winner like John Key always wants to over compensate for success. Key is either winning big with a laid back vacant smile or he walks away on his own terms.

Despite moments of grumpiness when it wasn’t fun anymore, Key want’s 4 terms because only one other NZ Leader has managed that. It’s for bragging rights now, and people like Key love bragging rights.

So what could stop Key’s possible Fourth Term?

The grim truth is it will need a global financial crisis that finally pops the property bubble which convinces the middle classes that they are millionaires.

The problem for those who oppose this Government is that the electorate simply makes more money while National are mismanaging the economy and ignoring the poor. Those who have property have benefitted from the bubble and they vote overwhelmingly for John Key, despite mass surveillance lies, despite dirty politics, despite a housing crisis, despite an education crisis, despite a welfare crisis and despite a homelessness crisis.

We have a scam migration policy which exploits foreign workers and hurts local worker conditions  while Key’s own personal wealth continues to build past $60million for crying out loud, but when your house value earns 3 times your own wage annually, who’s your daddy?

Key makes his voters feel rich and he tickles their petty bigotries – Labour could have the re-incarnated Christ as their Leader, and it would still be close.

But this all changes if the property bubble pops.

If there is a sudden end to the easy cheap money, those middle class NZers who voted Helen but now vote Key will go from the swollen millionaires they think they are to concerned citizens overnight.

Key can get away with draconian welfare reforms while allowing the middle classes to speculate because the cracks in the social infrastructure happen in the poor and brown parts of the country, but if those cracks are noticed by the middle classes as they start to struggle, Key’s illusion fumbles.

Minus the correction of all corrections, it’s going to be tough for the Opposition to wean enough voters off their property addiction to get to 51%.  The disengaged won’t engage because their experience of state services are all negative and the Opposition haven’t done a very good job of explaining how their policy would benefit their lives in a real sense.

So the Opposition don’t have enough bait for the disengaged and can’t risk spooking those exploiting the current system.

National voters know the system they are profiting from is hurting their fellow citizens, they just don’t care. This is what 30 years of neoliberalism has produced.  There’s a dark streak of anti-intellectualism in NZ, a negative egalitarianism, that embraces Keys nonchalant ignorance with the passion of a junkie to their dealer.

This isn’t the fault of the Opposition any longer, this is the fault of the voters.

  1. It’s like the film The Invasion of the Body Snatchers where you suddenly realise everyone kind of looks like you but they are completely different.

    • And notice all the wrinkles on his face and the stress in his eyes.
He has much to hide and ethics and morals flying out the window.
No wonder he looks so much older and much more stressed. Heavy load.

  2. Is it too unfair of me and too much to wonder why the poor don’t get up, stand up and vote?
    I’m serious.
I thought I couldn’t despise Muldoon any more than I did…. until subsequent Tory Governments came along. It cuts my soul to see what’s happening. But it also confounds and infuriates me that the Missing Million haven’t mobilised.
What’s so hard in casting a vote for fuck’s sake?

  3. “Key can get away with draconian welfare reforms while allowing the middle classes to speculate because the cracks in the social infrastructure happen in the poor and brown parts of the country, but if those cracks are noticed by the middle classes as they start to struggle, Key’s illusion fumbles.”

They have made there bed and will have to lie on it when the bubble bursts, but I am picking he bwill go for an early election as he doesn’t want to risk the later time that may allow the beginning of the downturn in the housing market to appear as is happening in the US and other regions.

So the opposition better get real now and prepare for the early fight to rid this evil junta.

Record debt indeed they will leave us broken and many homeless with here reckless folly!!!!

    • While you mention welfare policy and reforms, I could not resist offering this update, which I already posted under another topic a day ago:

Outsourcing and private contracting of services are also increasing at the MSD and WINZ. Remember this for instance:
“Govt will pay to shift mentally ill into work”
      http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10893823

There was much fanfare about this new approach and how it was all based on “evidence”.

Then not long ago came this report:
      “Back-to-work programme labelled a fail”
      http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11514141

We had Carmel Sepuloni ask the Associate Minister for Social Development, and she responded that an evaluation report would be due later in the year (2015):
      https://www.parliament.nz/en/pb/hansard-debates/rhr/document/51HansS_20150917_00000477/sepuloni-carmel-oral-questions-questions-to-ministers

We NEVER got an evaluation report that was published, it has all been swept under the carpet, and even Labour did not bother digging deeper, it seems.

Now we do quietly get this relaunch of a similar program, called “Work to Wellness”:
      https://www.beehive.govt.nz/release/helping-those-health-conditions-work

So here we go, first attempt failed abysmally, as I suspect, hence NO reporting, and hence they go and run further TRIAL on the vulnerable, following their ideological approach to welfare and health.

It is indeed criminal what is going on. They are basically using mentally ill as guinea pigs for their trials.

And they use a hatchet doctor for Principal Health Advisor, who likens benefit dependence to drug dependence:
      http://www.gpcme.co.nz/pdf/GP%20CME/Friday/C1%201515%20Bratt-Hawker.pdf

The above, and other comments I presented over recent times, thy are raising issues and matters that the MSM does no longer bother reporting on. Re welfare reform it is all SUCCESS in the MSM’s eyes, same as the misinformed public’s view. Benefit recipient numbers go down, goal achieved, that is how most look at it. That means less costs, less needed taxes, more in MY pocket, many will say.

Key and his gang know this, and they get away with hiding what really goes on, their Mental Health Employment Service trials were an abject failure, evaluation reports were never presented, and they get away with simply sweeping it all under the carpet.

Where the hell is our MSM? Oh yeah, busy tweeting each other nonsense and following celebrities on their tweet journeys.

  4. Dont think people who’s houses have increased in value are uncaring, its an opportunity for them to have some money to be comfortable after sale .
The Asian buyers who Key invited into NZ with the same buying rights as NZs will reap big benefits to the detriment of young ones trying to enter property market.
Asian buyers are in the property market in many many countries.
Key will hope Clinton wins the White House because he is part of the corruption (very small part) Trump wouldnt have a bar of him,Trump is promising to stop the establishment and globalists from taking over America.
The MSM are against Trump because they are part of the establishment
they refuse to report his success because they want a Clinton win.
Clinton has spent millions (of other peoples money ) in advertising to put Trump in a poor light. Trump has used his own money only now accepting donations .
If Clinton wins it will be because of rigging and cheating, she has nothing ,no policies , no honesty , no integrity.
The polls say she is ahead ,but the fixers have to say that ,its easier to rig results if the perceived voting is close.
Trump gets thousands at his rallies Clinton gets hundreds, she wont give a press gathering in case she lets herself down ,she leaves her minders to do the dirty work, she should be in jail but the One World Order wont allow it,she gets a pass on everything.
Key takes his orders from Obama,America practically owns NZ thanks to Key.
There is talk of the US$ crashing at the end of this month and new currencies will takeover, the government will close as its money supply is gone , if they cant raise more money its shop closed.
Obama is busy promising to provide more social welfare money when he knows he dosnt have the money, hes just trying to make a Trump presidency as difficult as possible.
Key wont have a tie to USA and wont be able to keep up his dependancy on them .
Fortunately NZ dosnt totally rely on US$ to keep NZ afloat , we have ties the Chinese and UK and Australian Dollar currency.
Key does rely on instructions from US ,if US banks collapse so will banks in NZ,USA have big shares in NZ banks along with Australia.
Key is looking quite worried ,his back up might disappear.
Clinton is more likely to press the nuclear button than Trump, Trump wants to save America not destroy it.it takes 5 people to agree to press the button.
Clintons health records wont be released because the establishment want to keep her in play until after election, shes not fit for the White House or anything else, she is being used ,such is her ambition and need for power she will stay in race until’ she collapses permanently, the collapse on tv was not anything but a seizure and evidence of serious concern,if she was’nt so corrupt one would have sympathy for her,but she has no concern for anyone just like Key,both first class liars and lack of empathy, how anyone in their right minds could vote for either of them, puzzles me but then the MSM dosnt let the real truth come out,in NZ or USA.

    • You should sell whatever your taking as it obviously is mind altering. While Clinton as President is a scary thought the idea that Trump would be better is out of this world.

      • Im not on anything Quick Thinking ,dont smoke dont drink dont do drugs ,I study the politics of USA, you probably just read Herald.
Because Clinton says Trump is not good you believe it,thousands at Trump rallies dont agree with you. maybe your thinking is set in a unbending way, think again .

        • Trump supports the KKK, I’m surprised you support that archaic organization Elle, I too study American politics. Do you really wan’t Trump running the economy when he has so many bankruptcies.

          • Trump does not support the KKK.Clinton took $10,000 from KKK for her campaignThe Democrats were the slave owners in the past,it was a republican who stopped slave owning.

      • Accusing people you don’t agree with of being on drugs is a cliche that has long since lost its effectiveness. It would better if its practitioners tried thinking for a change (if indeed they are capable of such a thing).

    • Agreed as usual Elle.

You are always right on the mark.

At least Trump is not support by corporations and Bilderberg AS CLINTONS ARE.

    • I agree 100%. Trump is the only one that will kill the TPP, Hillary will bait and switch and pass it if Obama doesn’t do it for her during the lame duck session. She helped write the TPP for global corporate interests and pushed for it 45 times, she’s drooling to see it passed, a tiger never changes its stripes.

      • Both Cleangreen and Joanne are right on the mark, well done you two ,others just give critical opinions without substance, nice to know others get the facts.

      • Hate to break it you all, but Trump is as wedded to corporate Wallstreet as John key is. And like John key, when push comes to shove, Trump will do as he is told.

  5. ‘The grim truth is it will need a global financial crisis that finally pops the property bubble…’

We’ve known for a long time that present arrangements are totally unsustainable and that yet another crash is inevitable.

Chris Martenson, of ‘Crash Course’ fame has a something to say on the matter:

‘It’s been a long 7 years for those of us who believe fundamentals matter.  For quite some time they have not.

So we reality-based fundamentalists have largely been reduced to pointing at the parade of policy failures and ham-fisted market manipulations and saying, essentially, That’s just dumb.
But ‘dumb’ mistakes have become ‘stupid’, and ‘stupid’ became ‘idiotic’, and now ‘idiotic’ mistakes are piling up, accumulating into a mountain of stored potential energy that will someday topple destructively across the global markets. We’ve all known, deep down, that money printing is not the same as capital formation, and that prosperity never truly results from redistributing wealth from one group to another. And yet, far too many have been willing to play along and place their trust in the central banks.

Well, we’ve finally reached the beginning of the end.

The global experiment with our current flawed economic and monetary models are drawing to a close. The fetish worship of central banks, bankers, and banking is over.

Belief in central bank omnipotence is being chipped away at daily, as it’s becoming increasingly clear that the easing policies of the past seven years have only served to kick a can down the road — a can that can longer be kicked any further.’

    http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-09-24/hell-pay-final-condition-market-crash-falling-place

However, NZ in an is almost unique position insofar as the worse things get in other nations the more attractive NZ becomes as a place to run to. And desperate people will pay almost anything to get into what they perceive as a lifeboat.

  6. Harry Dent predicts correctly past recession’s/depressions using a new map system, and is widely respected as the most accurate forecaster of economic crashes and when they will occur so National will fail as a victim of this end of cycle order that is about to occur.

This Crash and Recession Indicator Warns: Extreme Danger

    Harry Dent+ ,  September 21, 2016

    http://economyandmarkets.com/economy/forecasts/harry-dent-crash-recession-danger/

When it comes to spotting danger periods for recessions, and especially major crashes, the Boom/Bust Cycle lets us see when stock crashes and recessions are most likely to occur.

As my fourth key macroeconomic cycle, this makes it the most important one I have innovated since the Generational Spending Wave in 1988.

It explains why Ned Davis’ Decennial Cycle failed in 2010 – 2012, and why his cycle is more variable than clock-like. And right now it’s flashing a warning sign of extreme danger into 2019!

What gives this cycle an edge is that it’s based on sunspot activity, and scientists have measured this accurately since the mid-1700s. As such, they can now project it fairly accurately.

    88-of-recessions-occur-in-down-sunspot-cycles

Dave Okenquist, my research analyst, found data on recessions back to 1850 and added the grey shadings to indicate these on the chart. That shows us that 88% of such recessions occurred in the downward leg of this Boom/Bust Sunspot Cycle.

That’s an astounding and irrefutable correlation!

Anyone who thinks this is too weird to pay attention to does so at their own expense.

In the last Boom/Bust Sunspot Cycle, we experienced the tech crash from right at the top in March 2000 into October 2002, exactly within the first three years of the downward trend – as Ned Davis’ cycle would have predicted.

Then we had the 2008/09 crash and great recession right into the cycle’s bottom in August of 2009. That’s not something Davis’ cycle would have predicted.

How’s that for a forecasting tool?

The most recent cycle was the most extreme in hundreds of years. It stretched out to 13.9 years instead of the average 10! It only peaked and began to turn down in February 2014, not the more typical early decade setback we’ve seen in the past since the 1960s.

  7. Many, many migrants vote for National. Are you disinclined to look at this fact, because of your pseudo-left-wing blind spot/obsession with identity politics?

    • Castro–why else does National import foreigners and give votes to non-citizens, but to shore up their margins. They don’t give a fark about NZ, Maori, or the Kiwi heart that existed before. Import the greedy and overwhelm/suppress the indigenous. A vile practise by vile business.

  8. Oh, come on, the MSM have already crowned him for the fourth time, after his supposedly “impressive” performance at the UN. All that counts is that “one of us” is up there to hold a speech in front of the leaders of the big nations, and to shake also the hands of the leading shakers and decision makers on Wall Street and in the hallways of the Pentagon.

They have happily adopted him as one of their own now, even Aunti Helen, as Paddy Gower now calls her with “respect”, he seems to have given up any attempts to scratch that teflon facade of our Esteemed Dear Leader.

And Aunti Helen is so grateful for John and his “team” to support her, trying to get her the top job at the UN.

Even being allowed to swing the hammer while presiding the UN Security Council meeting last week, that made our Leader look like a boy who finally reached his zenith.

But he said it in an interview on Q+A, he is not one keen on a UN job, he wants to be PM of Niu Zilliland, for a fourth term.

Corin Dann was like a well behaved school boy today, on TV, when interviewing John The Magnificent PM. NO hard questions, no doubt now, our leader must be given a fourth term.

The court jesters among the MSM troupes may still dare play up a bit and clown around, but in their majority, the decision has been made, they crowned him already as the winner end of 2017.

So the rather look further ahead now, will he be willing to run for a FIFTH TERM, that is the only question they will now ask.

Prepare for the pollsters to prepare the ground for Election 2017, as the many undecided are never really mentioned, and that makes Natzinal look so much better, when compared to the Labour group and the Greens, preferably separately.

Winston may growl, but discretely already prepare himself, to serve as fill in PM for the next term, should the Nats need a few extra seats to get that firm majority.

Democracy RIP, the establishment has already spoken, just see and listen to the interviews on The Nation and Q+A.

  9. Also yesterday, I noticed, when listening to RNZ and their program ‘Focus on Politics’, it consisted only of a LONG interview with one politician only, and that was our Esteemed Dear Leader, John Key, Prime Minister of New Zealand and the Chair of the UN Security Council meeting last week.

Well behaved questions were asked, and our leader answered in a relaxed manner, waffling on a bit, but that is what Kiwis seem to love, a casual mannerism, with his words all over the place, neither here nor there, saying little and hiding much of substance, and appearing “cool” and “friendly”.

The program had NO input or comments from any opposition politician, it was a show that perfectly portrayed and lifted the profile of our Leader.

As of recent times ‘Focus on Politics’ has repeatedly presented rather one sided programs, I wonder why? Well, we know the answer, do we not?

And they have not even got it loaded as audio on their website, perhaps so nobody listens to it carefully and notices the bias.

    http://www.radionz.co.nz/national/programmes/focusonpolitics

  10. Actually, we need the All Blacks to lose. 98/99 – Abs sucked, election loss. 2007 – THAT world Cup, not much better after.

He could ride out a financial crisis with his “shexperteese”. THe reason he doesn’t have to acknowledge the housing crisis is because he knows that everyone who is desperately locking themselves into a new tight mortgage is one more voter to terrify into voting National.

It’s not that people do not have empathy, but the problems and the options are not being evenly portrayed by the media. It seems some in the MSM are somewhat aware of this, but they don’t actually know how to do fair news anymore. Not when all the trash like Henry, Hosking, the Listener are holding the line on Othering any opinion outside of the Party.

If people could be convinced to vote on their feelings about how their life is and not be swayed by fear through the media or made to feel they don’t know enough to vote, still easily enough votes to get over the line.

  11. Were I National there is no way I’d want this ride to end because we all might just discover what has really been going on in government and that could spell their permanent demise.

And its a guess, based on the way National have operated these past 8 years, but while they remain in power there’s plenty more money to be made for those Nats close to the action.

  12. I may have read this wrongly:

‘the middle class’ of this country all vote National. They all speculate with their property/ies. They all borrow money against the supposed value of their landholding.

Do you know – I doubt that.

Some, for sure. But not the implied ‘ALL’.

And, in those ‘poor’ areas of the country (let those provinces and places be forever unnamed and unknown) there are no middle class people with their Samsonite luggage and their smart tv’s (oxymoron, I know.)

I don’t have the means whereby to go digging for data under cowpats. No connections nor tip-offs.

    But some do.

So, if those some could assist by providing a few localised facts – I, for one, would be able to make a much better picture from this swirl of tea leaves.

  13. [Chris, your comment was deleted because it was offensive and most likely defamatory. Do not attempt to repost those comments on this forum. – ScarletMod]

  14. While I’d gloat to the ends of the earth if a property-bubble burst, I’m also realistic to know it would first of all hurt those at the bottom of the socio-economic heap. They’re almost always the first to face the consequences of an economic crash.

Damned if I know what the solution is. Maybe there is no alternative to a really hard crash-landing that will truly wallop our collective backsides.

The irony is that Key will probably be out of office of then, and Labour will be in power, and suddenly it will all be the “fault of the Left”. Again. (Yep, I even read something from one right wing nut job (Kiwiblog? The Standard? Here on TDB?) who blamed the GFC on the Left. Fucked if I know how the moron came to that conclusion, perhaps he/she hadn’t taken their meds that morning.)

  15. Sir John Key and his establishment survive and use corrupt practice and law against us because we allow them to.

We dont stand up and say stop we dont like what is happening or we wont tolerate what you are doing because we are an easy going race of people who dont or wont make a stand..those days are long over and its a new generation now and i have to look after me not you.

We are a changed country and allow Key and his cohorts to pillage and plunder as long as we can go fishing , watch rugby , go to the pub and still get pissed at the weekend and race around in the ute recklessly and endanger others with the way we drive because we are in a hurry and incur massive debt to make up the shortfall in our decreasing wages or salaries to still go shopping and pretend we are rich.

Sir John Key is like a mirror looking back at ourselves.
He is only there because we want him there and we are not the proud , independent look out for the unfortunate in our society and get a fair deal people we once were and those things dont have any meaning or value because we insist on voting for Sir John Key and the other National MPs who are exactly the opposite of all that.

He will Martyn get that fourth term and reinforce that old belief that National is the natural party of government and the master of the staus quo and run the country like his own financial institution because we allow him and his associates to do just that.

    • That’s what has been slowly eradicated from new Zealand society………our ‘ Humanity’. Looking after #1 is now the mantra of the middle class…….People from south Auckland could tell you that our way of life is being diluted by mass immigration of people who have a different way of life…….I’m all for cosmopolitan society…until the influx becomes ridiculous ….as it has now. Uncle John is importing votes at great expense to native Kiwis (Maori AND Pakeha) We are divided amongst ourselves with treaty this , and fisheries that, and division is the best tool in Uncle Johns toolbox……….by doing nothing about the housing bubble he has created a huge voting bloc which didn’t exist before……I can’t wait to see the looks on their faces when they get caught short…….these people who have suddenly found themselves wealthy …on paper……have been spending up large on credit…….NZ’s domestic credit is at dangerous levels and will be the pin that will bring it all down. It has all gone too far and a soft landing is no longer possible……It’s going to hurt. All I hope for is that it happens on Uncle Johns watch……..he deserves that.

  16. It is the fault of the opposition in my view that have failed to unite and offer normal policies that would improve most Kiwis lives. Making people work longer for retirement and bring in more taxes or uncertainty on the only thing of value most Kiwis own (their house) last election, while ignoring many other big issues now exposed in the panama paper (super rich people/corporates pay little or less taxes than the average people). Ignoring or forgetting the environment in favour of small social policies such as the flag are continual mistakes for the left.

The opposition often seem more interested in wooing recent migrants while ignoring statistics that also show that the government migrant policy is bringing down Kiwi wages, increasing job insecurity and increasing house prices and rents and increase demand on social services. There seems to be selective blaming going on and the voters are not buying it. I’m not blaming migrants but I am blaming those venting on but choosing to ignore all the issues and reduce it down to some sound btye. Boomers bad. Migrants and young people, good. I’m not a Boomer by the way and see many right wing young people who grew up with Thatcherism ‘no such thing as society’. They act and think accordingly.

If the left keep endorsing votes for right of centre policy like Gen Zero, Chloe for Auckland Mayor and Ralston for council – then they are part of the problem. When Auckland council start selling off the infrastructure and doing PPP’s and the whole city is even more of a goddam awful mess, remember it was the left that was the public face of the unitary plan and right winger Phil Goff is Labour.

With the unitary plan, the right planned it, the so called youth pushed it in the media under the lobby group and various pro development new media sites as well as MSM and the ratepayers of Auckland were cut out of the debate. All roads lead to National’s version of the unitary plan.

It just shows you how skilful the strategy of the right is when it can get the lefties to vote the righties in make the lefties believe in it, and when it goes wrong it’s the lefties who look like the public face of a very bad National designed (but avoided) fuck up.

    Supercity and ACT, anyone?

    • I think the Labour party is just a myth……do they really exist? They sure aren’t making themselves heard in the media…….are they all down in the beehive gazing at their navels? Is their leader Little? or Dolittle? Labour is really Nat lite. I’m going to give the Maverick Right Honourable Winston Peters my vote for the 3rd time in a row…..some like to call him a turncoat….I think that he chose the sides he did to make change from within……and he did make some changes….but full leadership is needed to really shake up the shakey isles….. and do we ever need it! Uncle john has shafted us all royally in one way and another….I think his legacy is going to be one that produces a wailing and a gnashing of teeth….once he’s gone and the truth of the damage sinks in with the sheep….and the bubble is burst……and all those nat voters who thought they struck it rich have lost their houses to forfiture….. how short sighted and greedy we kiwis have become. I’m old and I don’t give a shit……just keep your hands off of my super……I paid taxes all my life for that. You millenials can just stfu and have some respect… I’m sick of reading how young people of today are carrying the burden of super for an ever increasing number of rich, greedy baby boomers. Hey! guess what….a very small % of us are rich and greedy….the rest of us are your struggling parents……who put you through school and uni whilst trying to deal with interest rates on mortgages of up to 24%….I’m sure some of us lost everything. One thing keeps coming back to me when I hear this poor me millenial tripe…..One day you will be us……and the things you demand now…which would make life harder for us……(And apparently easier for your consciences)will apply to you when you finally grow a pair in your 60’s…….then you can suck my you know what …idiots. Go ahead and vote nat if you think slavery is a charming lifestyle. And think better of your parents…..they are real people….not just statistics.

  17. The link about Key’s personal wealth is broken.

Also I think the opposition still do need to take some of the blame. Especially the Labour party. Their policies are not progressive enough to encourage people to vote. You don’t beat the selfish by being a little less selfish, you beat them by being decent. If Little losses the next election it’ll be because he came out against Meteria calling for lowering house prices.

  18. Matthew Hooten was in overdrive this morning. At one point Kathryn Ryan pullled him up mid-rant because he was misrepresenting what she was saying. Fair spitting, was Hoots. Putting the boot in good an’ proper.

  19. Keys support of the judiciary discharging a rugby player without conviction after assaulting both males and females will quickly turn people away from him.

    • His hundreds of proven lies and lack of ethics and having very little integrity and not much conscience has and will turn people off as well. Look at what he did to the people in Ireland and what misery that Merrill Lynch was party to with John Key working his greedy magic.

The criminal and greedy corporate elite and the UN are using him and he is a likely puppet – just like Obama.
Money is his god and he cares less about this country and its people and environment as he vomits his superficial and phony rhetoric.
Every time we hear him speak, we get sick to our stomachs.

John Key made millions on the backs of many suffering and his taking our country economically down the toilet and then his lies about it are disgusting and bring many peoples blood to boil. Why the ” asleep ” sheeples still support the likes of donky jonky is just plain mind blowing and shows massive ignorance and sheer stupidity.

  20. The ones who could stop Key’s fourth term are their own worst enemies. One of those is the majority of New Zealanders, most middle class, some even lower class, who give Key and his government credit or at least the space to come up with excuses, but who never can see beyond the tips of their own noses.

They are brainwashed, dumbed down, and rather resign themselves to powerlessness, which is the perfect excuse for not doing anything, as they say, oh, I am powerless, know too little or nothing, or I do not have any stake in it, as it will not matter what I think or do.

The problem we have is, the poor, the powerless, the workers that are working and working and making no or little progress, they have NO advocate.

They need an advocate, as they themselves cannot or do not bother to know what they need to know. They are not lawyers, they are not technical experts, they are not bosses of any sorts.

The advocates that should help and represent them are though dishonest, two faced and self serving. Hence they have NO trust from the people they are supposed to help.

That explains why so many idiots in the US follow Trump, that is why other idiots in other countries follow other pipers of Hamelin.

What is needed is to have Labour start get fucking honest with their supposed mission and policies, which in my view they have so far not been. They are trying to make it right for all people, rich and poor. But that will never work, it is highly dishonest and just plain idiocy. Even Winston First is selling dreams and perception rather than honest change. He hope enough disillusioned are angry enough to vote for NZ First.

What we need is the supposed advocates for the disadvantaged in New Zealand and the whole world, where the gap between rich and poor is ever more growing, to stand up for damned principles and honesty, and firm and uncompromising solutions that will bring back some more justice, and to reverse the damned neoliberal driven thievery of the better off, the privileged, the better educated, the professionals and their hordes of mercenaryes, from the poor and the lower middle class.

Unless some honest advocacy will return, we can wait and wait and wait, and will only get more of the same BS, as we had the last two or three elections and what followed it.

In my view, so far, neither Labour or Greens have been honest enough and committed enough, they are also themselves slogan campaigners, but are not truly connected to the people they should serve.

And as long as most still think, they better follow the crappy trends, that is to hope for crumbs to fall their way, by supporting opportunistic, selfish and endless profiteering interests, as long as that continues, as it is, we have a shit show of winning any elections.

That is my honest assessment of the state of affairs in New Zealand tonight.

I wish I had more positive news, but the also corrupt, commercially self serving MSM, is highly complicit in the corruption of people’s minds and in maintaining a totally hopeless, unsustainable and also corrupt state of affairs.
