Building more prisons is a US policy, and it’s all about funding big corporate businesses with long publicly funded contracts, even if the beds remain empty, just like compulsory blood testing and so on that we have seen the key National government adopt, and Maori are easy targets to fill the required quotas.
Interestingly, my elder said to me that Maori need to use white man’s law, not Maori law, to fight for what was taken by white man’s law, but she said many Kaumātua won’t listen.
