Now the Dallas Police know what it feels like to be an African American

What can one say about the latest round of blood letting in America? After the deeply traumatic deaths of African American’s at the hands of Police over the last few days, including the horror of a live streamed assassination by Police, there was bound to be some sort of backlash

Dallas saw that backlash.

The impunity with which American Police can shoot African American’s is almost on par with the Israeli Defence Force killing Palestinians. The American Police forces ‘respect my authoritah’ mentality of shooting first and asking questions later would not be tolerated if directed with the same zealotry at white Americans.

The history of slavery, racism and a brutal apartheid mentality Police force mixed with America’s ludicrous gun laws is a hateful cocktail of spite that erupts with enough regularity to remind us that there are deep problems still within the culture of our largest Super Power.

As with their foreign policy, America is now facing blowback from their domestic policy.

  1. From the outside looking in the US is one of the most paranoid, violent, brutal, uncaring cultures on earth, both domestically and internationally. I assume the current 80% gun saturation will not be enough to sate the arms industry lunatics and their paid off politicians after this latest horror.

Is Michael Moore correct when he summed up in his film Bowling for Columbine, that the promotion of fear as a vehicle to sell more weaponry both domestically and via politics internationally is at the heart of their problems? Naked capitalism playing on fear and therefore ignorance of the fictional boogie man who lurks everywhere be he a burglar, rapist or terrorist is premium earner for corporate USA.

I truly feel for your average US citizen, they like any other persons deserve so much better than the shit their leaders dish up on a violent daily basis.

And don’t for a moment think certain politicians in this country with US corporate interests can’t risk dragging us off in a similar direction for a quick buck either.

  2. “Warsaw, Poland (CNN)President Barack Obama said early Friday that Americans should feel outraged at episodes of police brutality since they’re rooted in long-simmering racial discord”. Obama by his comments has simply fueled the fire, he has fueled the anti police sentiment. A much wiser response to the latest police shootings would have been to say “we will ensure a thorough and complete investigations into these shootings, to determine their lawfulness or otherwise take any appropriate any action as deemed necessary”.. This is not the first time Obama has shot his mouth off. He needs to shut up, or at least think before he talks and use his power to ensure there is an ability or body to conduct complete and independent investigations into these shootings, the findings of which would be accepted as much as possible by all sides, black, white and everyone in between.

    • What planet have you been living on? The USA have had many “thorough and complete investigations into these shootings” & they all have been a whitewash. The only way to peace is the “love your enemy, forgive others” from the Christian faith but that is not going to happen mainly because those in charge refuse to change.
You have no idea of the motivation of the shooter so to claim Obama has fueled the fire is simply wishful thinking on your part.

        • Dave, “Obama has been much more sensible in his comments now”, well, aren’t you the clever boy then?? He must’ve been hanging onto your every word of advice. (Note sarc.)

Tell us, Dave, why you’re more interested in how this is spun in the media, rather than the fact that two innocent men were shot dead by Police in unprovoked situations?

Do you approve of Police using lethal force in random situations, especially where people of colour are involved?

How would you feel if it was your family member or friend who was killed in a similar situation? Would you shrug and casually accept it as the State being justified to kill anyone it thinks is even vaguely a “threat”?

And lastly, how do you conflate the illegal killings in the US by the Police with political killings in North Korea? Is there a difference?

Feel free to take a week or three to think of these questions, Dave. In fact, take all the time in the world.

  3. “The American Police forces ‘respect my authoritah’ mentality of shooting first and asking questions later would not be tolerated if directed with the same zealotry at white Americans.”

Almost twice as many white Americans are shot and killed by Police each year.

American’s gun laws are what they should be focussing on first and foremost. Race is an instituitional bias that impacts all Justice systems across the world, the difference in America is when that bias is coupled with the firearms it becomes deadly.

    • Look at the percentages.

You have referenced a far-right website which is fudging the figures.

      It’s a pretty dishonest analysis.

      To give you an idea, the website quotes The Guardian’s;

“… tally, of the approximately 1001 people killed by police this year in America, 502 were white, 250 were black

      250 out of 1,001 is 25%, right?

Yet the Black population is around 13%.

Someone with your business background, as you told us recently, should be about to do simple math.

The right-wing website doesn’t reject the figures – instead they conflate them with crime statistics.

    • Thetruth, you do realize that the website you’re referencing is,

      (a) a far-right blogsite

      and

      (b) ignoring it’s own statistics.

Takiing the PROPORTION of Blacks shot dead by Police, they do outnumber the rest of the population. You’re either not good with figures or are gambling that we’re too dumb to notice this.

Either way, you’re only showing that you have a willingness to misrepresent the facts. Bad form.
