Special Days, Special Service
We’re opening for dinner on May Day this Sunday because we reckon that Auckland’s only Living Wage restaurant is the perfect place to hang out on the day chosen to highlight working conditions around the world. Book for dinner – you don’t have to wear red, be red or see red. Just come hungry and choose from our delicious autumn menu.

Then just a Sunday later forget hard work and join us for lunch on Mothers Day. There will be a full cast of fish, seafood, free-range meats, the best of Auckland’s seasonal gardens and a wee treat for the mothers.

As the word gets out about our lovely space and delicious and interesting a la carte and function menus it’s been fun to host a growing range of special occasions. Our kitchen is really humming and we are growing out the front too. Wondering what to gift a special person or workmate – how about an Ika Voucher? Just send us an email.

Please spread the word about our May/June lunch & lecture series – “Cooler together” – three talks on climate change and climate action over lunch. Ika’s lunch lectures are a chance for the community to connect with local and visiting academics and public intellectuals over an ever-changing menu (seafood, meat and vegetarian options will be available).

On May 17 our Ika Salon guest, Charmaine Pountney, will reflect on The Eighties – the decade that history is fast forgetting. Follow Charmaine’s personal, professional and political journey as Principal of Auckland Girls Grammar School through a decade that changed this town forever.
