Watch as John Key demeans the dignity of the position of Prime Minister by screaming that the Opposition are ‘backing rapists’ (from the 2nd minute in)

Key is channeling Trump with less hair….

..just disgusting!

For the record, the Government can’t tell us that any of the NZ citizens detained on Christmas Island have sex convictions.

Disgraceful politics by John Key – this is a new low for the Prime Ministership. NZ citizens are being beaten and held in dangerous detention camps by our mate Australia and the best the Prime Minister of NZ can do is scream at the Opposition that they are ‘backing rapists’?

Remind me again how many current NZ Labour or NZ Green or NZ First or Maori Party MPs tormented a young waitress by pulling her ponytail for months on end?

As for the whole backing sex offenders, I just…I can’t….I’m genuinely lost for words.

Meanwhile, where has Mike Sabin gone to?

    • and lack of ethics and lack of integrity – go donkey jonkey – bury yourself deeper into the same hole that brownnose and the others are quickly sliding down into.
===>>> Go — go — rock stars with your rock star brain dead economy.

  1. John Key couldn’t give a shit about all “New Zealanders at home”, only those wealthy enough to matter.

How do we protect the NZ public from his investor mates?

And the speaker is an utter disgrace, he couldnt run a piss up in a brewery, its all about looking after his mates.

  2. You’re barking up the wrong tree again

The vast majority of NZ voters will be behind John Key on this. Labour is so detached from reality it doesn’t even know when it’s batting on a losing wicket.

    • At least its not cheating at the game. Key was disgusting in parliament today and I guess you just swallowed that hook, line and sinker. Key needs to put forward the actual number of murderers, rapists and child molesterers (Key’s word) there are in that detention centre.
You fell right into his trap, didn’t you, because he did not bother to add the non rapists, murderers and child molesterers (Key’s word)

      • Since you ask, Rae, this cut and paste from Stuff website (typos included): “Figures released later show Australia has 585 Kiwis on its deportation list including 34 child sex offenders, 22 murderers, 16 people conficted of rape and sex offences, 121 people conficted of assault, including grevious bodily harm, 83 people with theft, robbery, breaking and entering offences to their name and 64 people convicted of drug offences.”

I’m a Labour voter, but I cannot see this schmozzle as doing anything other then cementing Key’s position, and weakening Andrew Little’s. I hope he (Andrew) will now let this one slide. The landslide of support for the anti-Key position on this website, one has to say, reflects the views of only of a very select demographic, not the generality out there in Voterland. Please, Andrew, do not lose the next election on the support, however principled, of criminals.

        • Tom Gardner: ““Figures released later show Australia has 585 Kiwis on its deportation list including 34 child sex offenders, 22 murderers, 16 people conficted of rape and sex offences, 121 people conficted of assault, including grevious bodily harm, 83 people with theft, robbery, breaking and entering offences to their name and 64 people convicted of drug offences.”

But how many of them are on Christmas Island? It isn’t clear from that list exactly who’s where. It’s germane, given what’s been happening there.

          • You not get shipped back to detention centres on the mainland if you have serious medical problems or are next in line to be excepted into Australia. There either on Naru or Christmas Island.

          • So that is 72 convicted for rape, murder, child molesting, and the rest less serious convictions. Out of the total that is truly a minority then. And child sex offending includes having sexual relationships to a minor, which could be a 16 or 17 year old person.

It shows again, how Key likes to label people, throw them all into a collective guilt drawer, throw Labour in with them, and blame them to support “rapists”.

What a manipulative little shit our PM is!

        • Cheers but I think I will stick with someone who does the right thing for the right, even if a bit distasteful, reason.

          • You get to Christmas Island after youve done the time. Many of these people have been out of “time” for years. Seems they are getting punished twice. Seems some people are so fucking unforgiving and holier than thou.

          • Rae, in sorrow, I have to remind you of — I think — Gough Whitlam’s advice to Oz Labour way back then, who had been out of office for years: It’s nice to be pure, but you’re also impotent (or words to that effect — I think he stated it more cleverly than that)

        • How do we know how those figures are added up? Any of those offenders may be guilty of multiple charges, so the total number of offenders may not be equal to the cumulative number of offences. By excluding this context, Stuff are sensationalising the numbers, without telling us the whole story, potentially making the figures appear much worse than they are.

As for your disclaimer, if “the generality out there in Voterland” stand by Key making such distasteful remarks, then I’d say they need to be questioning their own morals, not Labour’s. We can stand against the offences and be repulsed by the problem, but that doesn’t mean we have to accept such lowest common denominator responses from the 9th floor.

      • That’s the point though. You see Key’s behaviour as disgusting, but it really wasn’t. Key is simply saying what most of us are thinking. When someone commits an offence they give up some of the rights law abiding citizens enjoy. Labour is associating itself with criminals. It’s dumb

    • never mind that calling all the 501s, rapists is patently false aye.

never mind that as NZers, the govt actually has a responsibility to ensure their rights arent being abused aye

never mind that its designed to be as offensive as possible aye

what your really saying is that the vast majority of NZers arent smart enough to spot the lie, or give a shit about the law and legal conventions that apply to both the aus and NZ govts

what an achievement for NZ – really something to be proud of that

    • Why does anyone bother to engage with AndrewO? – he’s talks in National Party PR lines (a particularly pure form of BS) and is no doubt part of the their social media response team and is only posting here in an attempt to disrupt and muddy the waters.

    • Bit desperate on your part, Andrewo. I’m sure you recognize sheer blind stupidity when you see it, even if it is the PM exhibiting that behaviour

    • I have no doubt you are right, although “vast” may be a slight overstatement. What I fail to see is how a majority of New Zealanders backing John Key is in any way a recommendation. That same hypothetical majority have shown themselves to be the most self-interested, intolerant, bigoted, partisan, xenophobic collection of cult-minded knuckleheads I’ve ever encountered. This is one place where it’s best to be in a minority, lest any remaining moral sensibilities be stripped from the bone by aforementioned knuckleheads. Before you predictably invite me to leave for other shores … that won’t happen. I wouldn’t miss seeing the fruits of your cricketing prowess for the world.

    • As a Christian it seriously offends me that Key is showing such evil behaviour, a few quotes come to mind, “all have sinned…” “forgive others as Christ has forgiven us” “let he who is without sin cast the first stone”. It appears that Key is trying to drag us back into some pagan past where only the financial elite have any rights. These people in the detention centers are fellow humans & need to be treated with dignity. It is especially concerning that no trial has been given to some of them.

      • Quick Thinking: “… a few quotes come to mind…”

I quite agree. Here’s another Biblical one, of which Key and his apparatchiks ought to take note:

“Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” St Matthew xxv. 40.

        • Richard Christie: I’m an atheist as well. But that great humanist, Jesus Christ, had it dead right, didn’t he? There are so many quotable quotes in the New Testament. I never fail to be surprised at how many Christians apparently don’t live by those precepts. Not getting at anyone on this thread, I hasten to add!

      • @ Quick Thinking …your arguments are somewhat a warped:

sex offenders often use religousity or the Bible to give themselves some sort of moral credibility eg Capill and Catholic priests

        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graham_Capill

        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catholic_Church_sexual_abuse_cases

….Pagans or agnostics or atheists do not

as for your claim about …”pagan past where only the financial elite have any rights”…you do not make any factual sense whatsoever…are you saying primal religions had a financial elite?…or are you saying John Key is a pagan?

        1. primal or pagan religions had no financial elites-

        2. John Key is not a pagan..he is a Jew and Judaism is a monotheistic religion and about as far from polytheistic Paganism as you can get

  3. Watched it all unfold this afternoon. Gutter politics at its absolute worse. It was shameful! FJK and the Speaker should be dismissed after their behaviour in the House today. Corruption and dirty politics obvious!

FJK accusing Opposition of supporting rapists?

One “prominent NZer” comes to mind here and the support he received, including a promotion, until his misdemeanors were exposed!

Very impressed with Marama Davidson’s debut question to FJK, on the Australian human rights issue. A right little firebrand there. You go Marama 🙂

    • Parliament at its most entertaining. It’s good stuff. We know where they stand on this issue.
Most of the time, we ignore parliament except for the political diehards. We should have more this..not less.

      • It is more shocking than entertaining. Do you think Key’s standing will get a boost with this kind of disgraceful behaviour? Do you approve of his dishonest and unjust accusation against Labour? Did you also approve of his pony tail pulling behavour?
Keen to know where you stand.

        • Not shocking, robust debate though. Ron Marks’ behaviour was shocking. Often there is alot of pussyfooting in parliament.
Not this time. Interesting to see how it plays with public.

I think we should not give the detainees NZ travel documents, so they stay in Australia. Made in Australia, stay in Australia.

          • Pony-tail pulling was juvenile, reflects poorly on John Key. But as student of politics there are so many permutations, so interesting.
Will John Key, go for ‘ soft on crime; soft on criminals’ attack. Labour have left their flank wide open. This could be a narrative making moment for him. Help him define Andrew Little and Labour.
“I’m for the hard-working law-abiding NZers; not the expat criminals who have abandoned NZ”. ” I look after middle NZ…..look at Labour…..fringe, wacko, criminal huggers”

            Looking with interest

  4. What a heinous disgrace.

“You back a rapist!” he screams, at a time when Roastbusters 2 has just been let off with a warning by his administration.

Whether or not you agree with National, the man is clearly unfit to hold this office.

    • Yep, just witnessed Paddy Gower give his personal right wing support of Key through his tv 3 political broadcast. No one mentioned the Maori Party members question to Key on a detainee whom hadn’t even committed a crime. Key’s response “I don’t have that information in front of me”. Audrey Young’s Herald piece also fails to state this.

  5. Well yeah. Foriegn policy isn’t Keys strongest attribute

It’s not even Nationals strongest attribute.

They’ve turned NZ into the weakest 5 eyes link and geopolitics is draging NZ into issues we shouldn’t be envolved in.

I mean seriously. New Zealanders in detention centres meant for boat people???

They can’t even get our own prisons right

  6. So screams the man who over 6 months felt it was ok to commit common assault on a female …the pony tail pulling debacle.

He couldn’t keep his hands to himself when he was at first politely asked to – oh no – he just keep right on going to the point the woman was in tears.

And this could have had sexual overtones as well – so I don’t think Key should be screaming too loud about that sort of thing , just quietly…

    • When the ponytail news broke I got a phone call from someone whose partner had been revealed as a sexual predator . My caller said “That’s what ******** used to do!!”

    • Yep WK.

      Ponytail pulling …

      Supporting “prominent NZer” …

Discussing dirty little personal habits on radio …

      Stalking rugby players …

Hanging around rugby player’s change rooms …

Constantly feels the need to be the centre of attention …

A growing list, pointing to the behaviour of a perverted psychopath perhaps?

And to think this “thing,” this pathetic, poor excuse for a human being leads a country! Give me strength!

      • remember it wasnt just the waitresses hair he had his 5 fingered mitts all over kiddey hair as well perv key is a sicko

  7. Angry key face PR for the faithful to say
hey that’s why you voted for me
to show NZ’ers blah blah blah blah

well we aren’t listening to you any more
what a disgrace you are and have always been as PM
    of our beautiful country.

oh and by the way hows your ex mate mike sabine doing?
you know the one you said would be a fab great cabinet minister
how bout your backing of “that guy”

johnny boy just another plaster saint

  8. Now this to add to J.K moniker, the most disgusting P.M. in history. Even Whailoil doesn’t stoop this low. Agree with Merrial, he just gets dumber. Surely this will signal his demise. He has shown clearly his vulgar mind.

    • Anyone who has amassed a personal fortune of $50m+ and become Prime Minister of a country on his third term is NOT dumb.

Danyl over at DimPost nails it:
Like Rob Salmond, the first thing I thought of when Key accused Labour and the Greens of ‘backing rapists’ etc was Lynton Crosby’s ‘dead cat’ technique for changing the conversation. The motivation was probably Kelvin Davis going on Morning Report yesterday and calling Key ‘weak’ for his failure to stand up for New Zealanders. Rather than have the line repeated on the TV news Key decided to project strength in the House by abusing the opposition. Now instead of calling Key ‘weak’ the opposition are complaining about him being mean to them. Goal achieved.

What may seem like dumb behaviour can in fact be very smart politically. It also plays a nice line of anger, mongrel and passion that he can apparently summon at will underneath his normal “laid back, good bloke to have a beer with” veneer.

  9. Add David Carter to this disgraceful episode. Carter became very guarded and sheepish as this episode wore on. It will go down as his worst day as speaker(and he’s had 100’s).

  10. Labour left themselves wide open for this. Why are they supporting a bunch of criminals no one wants and completely failing whatever voters they have left back here?

      • The detainees can come back – they are volunteers said Mr Key. He knew he had stuffed up when he said that comment on One News last night.

So today’s disgusting Angry John “show” was to deflect attention from the fact that Key and Turnbull made up “bullshit” story that the detainees were “volunteers”.

Helps get a place on the UN Human Rights council for Aussie – supported by Key. The “detainee volunteers” are just camping out on Christmas Island.

Malcolm Turnbull and John Key should get a joint Nobel Peace Prize for his treatment of the Christmas Island volunteers.

    • Unfortunately you are as dumb as Key in not understanding what the actual issue is! Shame on you and on the pony tail puller.

    • many of them arent criminals – and where do you get the odd idea that defending the rights of ALL nzers = supporting criminals?

(the NZ govt is required to ensure that the rights of all nzers arent being abused. – they actually dont get to pick and choose like this)

    • @ Toasty – regardless criminals or not, they are still human beings. As such they deserve some level of support and advocacy, which it seems they are being denied.

    • The job of PM is to help NZs not be judge and jury,he hasn’t got a clue what those prisoners have done and he dosnt care,
Keys aim is to put opposition in the wrong . Key has no dignity or diplomatic skills , hes a bit of a criminal himself, maybe we could put him in jail for assault of a young girl.

    • If we take aside human rights Toasty (and actually we shouldn’t) if you are going to be completely selfish about these guys coming back to NZ and NZders need protection, then the last thing we want is for these men to be damaged even further by being held in custody in an abusive shambles.

    • Nobody wants? I want them. I’m a volunteer prison support counsellor who has engaged with over 50 inmates, long term and short, in the last 15 years. All bar one of those released has re-engaged succesfully with the community and are no more a threat than anyone else. My Key merely lays claim to “protecting New Zealanders” whereas it’s “do-gooders” like me who are prepared to get eye to eye with “a bunch of criminals” who are really protecting you. And before you drag out the lefty crap … I don’t do silly things like vote for bullshit politicians and haven’t for 39 years. On balance I find “a bunch of criminals” a better class of human being.

    • Oh, don’t be so simple about it. They don’t support the crime, they support the person’s human rights as a NZ Citizen. Hell, even the bible (which I do not believe in, but will refer to for the purposes of simplifying my point) says it clearly – “Love the sinner, hate the sin.”

    • Don’t you even keep up with events. Even Shonkey admits that they are not all rapists, murderers, etc. Actually he doesn’t know how many there are, maybe one or two? he doesn’t actually know but ignorance is obviously no hurdle to him.

  11. Here in lies the problem of running a government by focus groups and polling.

Many are not rapists or murders and Key knows it but he couldn’t care less who he denigrates to save his own hide. They are locked up because they want to go home and home is Australia but they have no one to go into bat for them, certainly not this gutless creep our dear esteemed prime minister.

Sometimes you have to do things that won’t enhance your popularity because it’s the right thing to do. But not John Key. Short of a script and completely rudderless on this issue all he can do is spout vitriol and filth because that is the real man, not the relaxed bullshit image we are fed. What a sad bastard he is!

    • Right on the mark, dead right. Farrar’s given him the nod for this display, what a spineless little self serving arse

  12. This Prime Minister is deranged, just look at his face screaming in parliament, hes a maniac,a most disgusting excuse for a man,and the speaker to allow it is a weak creep .
Im surprised the whole of parliament didn’t walk out ,the public would have thought better of you if you had.
I hope this goes viral overseas to see what we in NZ have to put up with.

  13. Once again Key on the money and speaking on behalf the majority of middle NZ.Seems accurate I would have thought. Same MP’s who left are the same ones the hid the disgusting Darren Hughes story from the public eye. Nude, intoxicated teenage boys and swiss balls are not alright.

    • If your comment is accurate, that only tells me that “the majority of middle NZ” is in deep moral decline. Just because an attitude is popular, doesn’t mean it’s a good one to hold.

    • *Once again Key misleading the public, skewing an extremely important human rights issue and turning debate in parliament into a farce. Sounds like another day at the office for this government.

How many of the kiwis on Christmas island are actually rapists or sex offenders…?

  14. A gruelling example of petty politics
getting a rise of indignation from your opposition so as to avoid them making a pertinent comeback.

Our jail system does support criminals. It is supposed to be designed to educate and remedy criminals and assess them for being part of the community.
Its contentious but that’s how we do it. We don’t automatically give a life sentence to every rapist. We also know that we don’t give even give a fair trial to a rapist necessarily, it depends on their social standing.
I would say The PM slurring and screeching with excitement about the left supporting rapists is using a ploy that has been common to them over the last few years. Attack first with whatever is your own weak point.
Not a good look at all for a party with various members with name suppression for various crimes.
Besides that, the issue here is of humane treatment and process. Sure the detainees have individual needs and circumstances, but they should all be treated humanely. This is the crux of the matter and this accordingly should be what the speaker of the house should be basing his procedural descisions on.
By his own standards he ought to have asked the PM to apologise AND leave the house.

  15. John Key hasn’t understood what the actual issue is about this detention issue at all! Key is either a simple fool or a very nasty, dirty-politics-playing lowlife. How the bloody hell did this lousy man get to be the PM of New Zealand? The speaker is another biased fool in charge of parliament! I think both the PM and the speaker should resign, made to resign or be dismissed. I wonder if there are any National MPs of character, guts and values left in that party who will dare to take these two characters to task!

    • JP Key got to be PM because USA planted him here,he got drunk in America and boasted that he had been picked for PM of NZ.
His nice guy personna has slipped ,he knows hes got the backing of banks and corporations and believes he is irreplaceable.
Time he went to America where he belongs ,hes no use to us.
Is there no one in National who is prepared to ask for a vote of no confidence?,no one with the guts to admit Key is wrong?

  16. A gruelling example of petty politics designed to get a rise out of the opposition and avoid addressing the issue properly

  17. It seems the PM is using a ploy that has appeared from the National party over the last few years, to attck first in an area that might be one of your own weakest.

  18. I watched as Key’s little performance happened and thought it was an unbecoming, scummy display.

Interesting that comments on here lamenting his behaviour are being down ticked. Defenders of John Key accept, ignore or even want his lying.

They show in this instance that they are prepared to accept anything he does. They belong with him in the effluent pond.

  19. pm seems to be using a ploy engaged by the National party before, to attack first when the issue may be one of your own weak points

  20. pm seems to be using a ploy engaged by the National party before, to attack first when the issue may be one of your own weak points

The issue here is about humane treatment of those in detention.
this is the point the speaker should have been making his descisions based on.
What plans are in place to protect those people.

  21. labour and greens should not bother going to parliment, its john keys show, may as well leave him to it till they change the speaker

  22. is there some sensible reason no one from labour has used parliamentary privilege to disclose what sabin did and johnkeys knowledge of it

  23. I predicted this morning (on another post) that Key would try this angle in response to being made to look like the weak spineless clown that he is. You know why I predicted that? because it is straight out of the Crosby Textor handbook for political right politicians. Once again John Key shows that Crosby Textor has all the answers for him because he doesn’t have any of his own.

    • Gordon Campbell also says it is straight out of the Crosby Textor handbook, known at the “dead cat strategy”. Read his Scoop column for today.

      • You mean 47% of the people who bothered to vote. In the 2014 election, the total vote count among all parties was 2,446,279 (77.90% of enrolled voters) of which National received 1,131,501 votes(47% of that 77.90% of those who turned up to the polling booths.) NZ’s population at that time stood at around 4.471 million (according to the 2013 figures from Stats NZ.) Out of that 4.471 million, National’s 1.131 million amounts to about 25%.

This is why it’s so important to get enrolled, and get the hell out and vote.

      • They didn’t vote for him or support him.
All these political parties spend their days arguing, creating press dramas and problems .
Parliament is a waste of time and money. For the corporation and by the corporation.

  24. I see the NatzKEY trolls are out in full force here with this one, down thumbing posts which condemn FJK’s dreadful behaviour in Parliament today.

Hmmm … hitting a raw nerve are we guys? Good 🙂

  25. Also noted by friends on Facebook was that National closed the only Rape Crisis centre in Christchurch, and have lowered funding for others.

  26. Labour supports New Zealanders, whether they have done a crime or not they are still New Zealanders. John Key will only support New Zealanders that fit his image of what a New Zealander should be: a rugby playing pony-tail pulling dairy farming roast busting redneck.
And of course if you are an opinionated journalist, spy, hate merchant or crooked property speculator he will probably stand up for you too. And he actually supports sexual assault by young men against young women, judging by his indifference to it.
Won’t see any mention of that on TV3 will you?

  27. Paddy stooge Gower has already spun it to Keys Goon squad were protecting him from an attack from Kelvin Davis and that Labour supports Rapists and Murderers by reading from a list his budddy Key gave him.

  28. Angry John was in full flight today he is protecting NZ from this bunch of rapists and murderers so he believes, Angry John always plays the fear factor!!!

  29. Judas used these words during the Last Supper of the classic Jesus Christ Superstar. They pertain very well to Key.

    ” You sad pathetic man
see where you brought us too
    our ideals die around us
    and all because of you
but the saddest cut of all
someone had to turn you in
    like a common criminal
    like a wounded animal”

Does Key really think he’s god?

  30. So…how low does NZ have to go before we cleanse out parliament and start a fresh, with people that have some decency and morals…
And to all those paid Crosby Texter trolls…is the money really that good?

  31. Roastbusters ……………….. Does anyone seriously believe that they would still be walking around as free as birds if Helen Clark was prime-minister ????????

Under John Key and his ‘experts’ like Mike Sabin nothing happened to them ……..

And now we have roast-busters Mrk II ……. and under this National government ……….. nothing will happen to them either.

John Key ………… the actions of his government speak far louder than his dishonest rant in parliament.

  32. Unfortunately Key’s rant will go down well with the majority.

Whatever the rights and wrongs progressives are on a hiding to nothing on this issue.

    • So true, government by popularity will never do the right thing when it needs to be done because self preservation always wins. And it’s not just people like this but when tough but necessary decisions must be made or in the case of Key, should have been made, he wont have the guts to do it.

  33. Where do you start?

Good on opposition for walking out of parliament in protest.

Maybe the PM supports illegal imprisonment and deportation and possible torture of Kiwis… by clearing the opposition doesn’t.

People are saying what if the Kiwis were Jews, and someone illegally detained, deported and imprisoned then, should people just sit by and ignore it, NOPE, the same should be said for Kiwis!

Even worse Serco is running it, the PM’s private provider of choice….

    It’s so disgusting!

    It’s inhumane!

And as for the PM, remember how he supported Family Violence by wearing a T Shirt saying proud to be a Man in relation to Violent men, what sort of man is our PM?

  34. Key can say anything in the house with impunity as long as Speaker Carter is in the chair. Another of the John Key toady brigade.

  35. All this is very sad, however most of those involved went to Australia to live. There is it NZ’s fault that they did not choose to become Australian citizens and are now being sent back to their country of birth.

Personally, I am not looking forward to having the following types sent back to NZ, when in actual fact they learnt their craft in Australia, we are told there are:

    22 Murderers
    34 Child Sex Offenders
    16 Rapists
    121 Conflicted of Assult
    83 Conficted for Theft/Robbery
    64 Druds
And the balance making up a total of 585 for lessor offences.

Kelvin Davis refers to them as New Zealanders, and he is correct ( I think) as to their country of birth. I think Labour have backed the wrong horse and if they thinks this will get them back as the ruling party they need to think again.

It is a very sad affair, but if people leave one country to live in another then they should do the job properly and become citizens of there adopted country.

    • …but if people leave one country to live in another then they should do the job properly and become citizens of there adopted country.

      Ah, the old blame-the-victim gambit;

      1. Spray with blame,
      2. Walk away
      3. No deep thought required!

Works even better when crims are involved. One can pass judgement to one’s hearts-content and feel morally superior for the whole day!

    • Grant of Wellington: “…however most of those involved went to Australia to live. There is it NZ’s fault that they did not choose to become Australian citizens…”

Not anything like as easy as you suggest. And since 2001, almost impossible, actually.

” I think Labour have backed the wrong horse…”

So: you think Labour’s taken up this issue just for instrumental reasons? And it should drop the detainees like the proverbial hot potato if championing their cause doesn’t improve poll results? That’s a very misanthropic worldview on your part, if I may say so.

Personally, I’ll go with a political party prepared to do the right thing, regardless of what the polls say, thanks very much.

  36. Disgraceful, John Key.
You grossly demean both the office you hold and the Parliament.
And the Speaker’s bad judgement and continuing smirks after the event show him yet again to have lost control and incapable of carrying out the office he holds with any dignity, fairness or sense of justice.
    Shame on the Nats!

  37. I’m guessing JK has been paid now for signing the TPP, and he can see the end in sight. Hawaii is calling. Time to go back to the U.S.
Please go, and take the rest of the Nats with you – including the speaker of the (laughable) house.

  38. John Key’s attack makes no sense. First off, whatever these people’s crimes they have served their sentences for them.
Sentences presumably that society has deemed sufficient for the magnitude of their crimes.
Secondly, in his statement John Key claimed that the Labour Party are supporting rapists, murderers and child molesters, but he went further, saying that he is defending decent New Zealanders.
How is letting the Australian government dump these so called terrible rapists, murderers and child molesters in New Zealand without their families or any other support, “defending decent New Zealanders”?
It just doesn’t make any sense.
The real reason, in my opinion that John Key has come out on the attack like this is to cover up for his weak sycophantic subservience to the Australian government on this issue.

  39. This will be the day, when we can look back and mark it as the end of modern democracy, and call it “the good ol’ days…”

  40. Most of the ‘inmates’ in the privately run concentration camp, are refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants, not criminals. But the MSM and governments in Aus and NZ, have no qualms with the human rights violations going on there. So they use a broad brush to paint everyone there as ‘criminals’, in an attempt to quash critics of the human rights violations that go on every day on Christmas Island. Wonder what other private prisons are like that, and in which country, give you a hint, it starts with ‘New’.

  41. Very bad new level of inhumanity to man is being perpetrated by Key club and I am also very offended by the speaker as Carter is a very bad example of a lack of moral guidance as his leader is.

This will be seen world wide as NZ’s march toward an inhuman less compassionate place to be.

Totally disgusting and Winnie is right the speaker must go now or more of this lack of leadership will evolve as time marches on.

    • Working for the Chinese
CEO of a huge over priced hotel in the Bay of Island
just waiting till the 16th April 20016 for more suppression
just laughing his head off like slimy creeps do.

      • Apparently he doesn’t enjoy his new job. Pay is great but despite being CEO he has no say about anything that happens at the resort. Not even allowed to ask friends to stay or his Aunty who is most put out.

  42. The govnmnt goes thru extremes to hide police rapists govnmnt rapists n church rapusts truely discreets n hides them when it comes to Maori hypocrite primmer minister

  43. Ian Lees-Galloway was ordered to leave the house because he refused to go along with Speaker Carter’s feeble wishy washy excuses for Key’s offensive behaviour. Good lad Ian! stick up for your principles! I also noticed that Bill English kept his eyes down during Key’s exhibitionist ranting. He didn’t seem to enjoy it much. Wonder how many other National MPs found Key’s behaviour unseemly. We will probably never know as they will all have been ordered to shut their mouths.

  44. We also have a useless Governor General, who would otherwise be the last resort of hope, to sack a PM and dismiss Parliament, but he has enough to hide himself, about his army career and misdeeds that may have happened.

So the whole old boys and girls network the ones in National under Key have spun reaches everywhere, it may even have tentacles into the Office of Ombudsmen, I dare think, and so we have NO real democracy, we have a mockery of democracy.

I have followed it all the last few years, and had hoped Dirty Politics would finally wake Kiwis up, but most are blissfully ignorant, and brainwashed, similar to the majority of Germans under Hitler. They simply have blind trust in Kim John Key, the shower pisser and the liar and the democracy hater.

It will be a horrible scenario once all these addicted, brainwashed, former Nats voters will wake up to the truth, so far they cling to their Stockholm Syndrom, it is like sugar mixed with cyanide.

  45. Key seems to perform his hissyfits when his, National’s & the NZ oligarchy’s accumulation of power is under threat. Key’s latest hissyfit fills the daily national newshole at a time when the text of the TPPA has been released ahead of the scheduled nationwide day of action this Saturday.
