John Key starts softening NZers up to signing the TPPA – check his dramatic change of language

NZ-CORPORATE-FLAG

Note how John Key’s language now in regards to the TPPA has dramatically changed.

Put aside the reality that this is a National security leash designed by America to combat china’s advance into the Pacific, put aside the fact it allows corporations to stop our own Government from passing laws and ignore the truth that this ‘free trade’ deal will take our economic and politcal sovereignty, just look at what Key has previously said to what he’s saying today.

Previously, Key kept telling NZers that we would only sign a “high quality” TPP deal. Really? So what’s he saying today?

“In the end, we will still hopefully land in the right place. At least it will be the very best we can do.”

The best we can do? The best we can do! That’s not the ‘high quality’ TPPA deal he was promising the people of NZ, that’s the ‘best we can do’. I don’t want the best Key can do, I don’t think his best is nearly good enough, if NZ isn’t getting a ‘high quality’ deal, the very deal he promised us, then why the hell should we suddenly accept a downgraded ‘best we can do’? He’s changed his language because he’s softening us up because he intends to sign this damned thing regardless of how obvious it will be that we don’t get anything out of it.

The horrific reality here is that the middle classes won’t deny Key doing this while their house prices keep going up, the second the property bubble pops they’ll suddenly care.

Civil disobedience is the only way forward if Key ignores the truth and signs the deal regardless of the danger it presents to our democracy.

  1. Nothing wrong with civil disobedience Martyn. Some memorable activists have used it, including Gandhi.

And revolutionary overthrow is also a legitimate action by the working class.

  2. Labour, Greens and NZF should be taking the Leadership role and giving Jonkey Nactional ultimatums about NOT signing!

There has been NO democratic process here ….therefore there can be NO signing of the TPPA!

….anything else is a violation of our democracy !…and a usurpation of our country New Zealand!….any such signing is VOID!

This is a civil and constitutional emergency. This should be said in Parliament .

Our MPs were elected to protect New Zealanders and their democracy

  3. In short, until New Zealanders get a real solid hit in the wallet, they will blissfully walk off any cliff that John Key directs them towards. Even while plummeting to the ground they will continue to sing his praises. Only the abrupt bump at the end will knock some sense into them.

  4. Ring-a-ring o’ roses,
    A pocket full of posies,
    A-tishoo! A-tishoo!
    We all fall down.

The cows are in the meadow
    Eating buttercups,
    A-tishoo! A-tishoo!
    We all jump up.

Urban myth states this English children’s song dates from the time of the Great Plague …however it is more chilling with the mental image of innocent young children cynically singing amidst death and misery and being utterly powerless to stop it.

I find it relevant because of the coming poverty upon NZ , the mention of cows …in the meadow…and the recent crash in dairy prices and then rise due to Fonterra creating an artificial price rise by simply releasing less onto the market…

Also relevant is one of the Bank of Switzerlands top analysts who predicted the crash of 2008 is saying that was just a stage rehearsal for the coming world depression..and that ALL the conditions just prior to 2008 exist now…and for us this will collapse the housing prices pertaining to this country…

And on top of all this we have a corrupt individual masquerading as a Prime Minister who’s main job it is , – is to not serve the people of this country but to put into effect and sign this country up to the TTPA.

It speaks volumes about any population who’s long term goals and vision extend’s no further than their immediate short term self interest’s…indeed…a population does get the govt they deserve.

The question is this : what will future generations speak of this current one in all its recorded posterity but as the generation who willingly sold of our national sovereignty for a song?

And so join me in singing ….

    Ring-a-ring o’ roses,
    A pocket full of posies,
    A-tishoo! A-tishoo!
    We all fall down.

  5. Yankee Doodle Key is basically a puppet for the Business Round Table, the Federal Reserve and the Wall St Jewish Bankers?

  6. Watch out Martyn, Key could quite well have you arrested for inciting civil disobedience, hopefully it wont come to that, but given the fact you have already been warned by the police for publishing John Minto’s article, its quite a possibility that Key will order the police to take action against you.

  8. Isn’t it sad that “The best we can do”.is the best David Farrar can come up with for John Key to say!

It probably beats it’s a shitter but I’ll be making plenty!

  9. This lying dirt bag will lie to save his rotten skin and damn us all for it.

The most toxic PM in our history as he sells our future away from us without us having any rights to even see the agreement first.

He should be challenged now by all IWI, Legal fraternity, Judges and Opposition for the undemocratic method he is using on us all.

He should be arrested for crimes against the state the carpetbagger, traitor, liar, and deserter of our rights to decide our own future the criminal.

History will mark him as the reason for the death of a nation.

  10. ‘the best we can do’ – yes the VERY best we can do for the 0.1% – just not for the rest! Putting a double speak shine on a toxic turd!

  11. Masterpiece here:

Joseph Stiglitz, Nobel prize winning economist told the TPPA negotiator’s in January 2015 “what you negotiate here involves the lives of people and ….we are talking about thousands & thousands of people who will die and thousands of people who will have a different quality of life as a result of what you decide”.

    IN MAY 2015 HE SAID OF TPPA;

    http://mtem.my/?p=921

    Nobel prize winning economist Joseph Stiglitz said in an open letter;

“There is much confusion about ISDS, but plain and simple: ISDS is about rewriting the rules of how our economy works, tipping the balance of power in favour of big businesses at the expense of workers and the public here (in the US) and in partner countries.” Simply put, ISDS is designed to “strengthen corporations at the expense of the rest of society”, he added. – END.

Robert Reich takes on the Trans-Pacific Partnership

Robert Reich, one of the nation’s leading experts on work and the economy, is Chancellor’s Professor of Public Policy at the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California at Berkeley. He has served in three national administrations, most recently as secretary of labor under President Bill Clinton. Time Magazine has named him one of the ten most effective cabinet secretaries of the last century.

    For us in Aotearoa/NZ it would;

1/ let foreign investors challenge our laws.
    2/ make medicines more expensive.
    3/ stop sticker GMO labelling.
4/ over ride Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
5/ undercut our moves to protect our environment.
6/prevent new limits on mining, drilling & fracking.
7/ fuel financial crisis. 8/ lock in asset sales.
9/ stop buying kiwi made policies.
    10/reduce internet freedom.
11/ prevent shopping for new markets for our exports.
    12/control our labour laws.
    13/ Control our civil rights.
14/ force a standardised low wage economy upon us all is never seen before. – and much much more. ‘

And we have not seen the whole text of the agreement yet so why should we sign this toxic agreement that no other generation in NZ history has ever been forced to be controlled like this before????

Refuse to sign Government for all our sakes.

  12. When a government sells the country to foreign entities and says this is the best we can do, then rest assured that civil disobedience become the duty of every citizen, otherwise the government will be emboldened to shaft us even further.
