On 25 July 2014, while this little child, this 3 year old boy, Hamza Almadani and his family were, asleep, Israel rained down white phosphorus on Gaza. White phosphorus burns at about 800 degrees C, through skin and bones. The burning is stopped only by blocking off oxygen.
This child suffered excruciating pain. His experience has been so traumatic that the once lively little boy has gone mute. This photograph of Hamza has been provided by Dr Vacy Vlazna, based in Sydney, co-ordinator of of Justice for Palestine Matters. Please look at the photo. I know it is painful to do so, but at least the child is alive. Try to imagine just for a moment that this child is your child, or grandchild, or your neighbour’s child. He needs , deserves, specialist medical attention that is available in Italy but not in Gaza. I strongly believe that New Zealand has a moral obligation to send this little boy and his mother to Italy for as long as it takes, because there is a NZ connection.
Our NZ Superfund invests in Israel Chemicals, maker of white phosphorus. Superfund’s investment decision makes us war profiteers from this ghastly war crime and, let’s be blunt, dropping white phosphorus on a crowded urban area is a hideous war crime.
There is a movement already started in Auckland to call Superfund to account..to call on Superfund to divest from corporations, and not just Israel Chemicals, that profit from Israel’s illegal, immoral actions.
Martin and I are both superannuitants. We appreciate living in a country that provides assistance to its senior citizens. We also appreciate living in a country where, I am absolutely convinced, people would be horrified to learn of this shameful investment decision.
The Guardians of the NZ Superfund must divest from Israel Chemicals now. Little Hamza must be given a chance to return to a normal childhood. (as much as is possible in Gaza!)

I look at that little boy and am reminded that he IS my child. Not of my blood and bone but he’s a baby human being and as such is my responsibility by default.
The jews dropping phosphorus randomly on people doesn’t surprise me. Our politicians investing my tax money into the Israeli War Crimes industry to enable that doesn’t surprise me either.

These are smoke shells and yes people can be burnt if they contact them.
They were used to mark positions which were to be bombed or shelled. Similarly the Israelis used a small explosive charge on rooftops to give a few minutes warming for civilians to escape.
Unfortunately Hamas continued to use human shields to protect their missile sites.
However this is all now history. Hamas has been completely cut off from resupply by the Egyptians and their tunnels destroyed.

Israel has relied on victim dehumanization and our collective complicity to get away with continued brutalization of the Palestinians. @Countryboy, you speak for me too. I feel Hamza deserves the same protection from harm as our own children do. Section 58 of the New Zealand Superannuation and Retirement Income Act 2001, requires the Guardians of the Fund to invest so as to avoid prejudice to New Zealand’s reputation as a responsible member of the world community. We can help by writing to our parliamentary representatives and demand immediate divestment from Israel Chemicals. We need to do this for Hamza.

I heard this evening that a resolution is to be filed with the UN, when it reconvenes, granting Palestine the right to call itself the sovereign State of Palestine and that Barack Obama has said the U.S. may not use its veto. This will mean that the State of Palestine can then file charges against Israel for crimes against humanity.

Another thing I heard is that all Heads of States have been told by Dr M.T. Keshe to issue instructions to all who carry weapons to cease warfare as of 21 September 2015. Interesting website.
