The very brilliant Dr Jarrod Gilbert has won best blog at the Canon Media Awards after they horrifically gave the award to Cameron Slater last year.

Gilbert’s blog deserved the win, his critique of David Farrar,  was one of the best last year.

Gilbert winning has restored some shine to the Awards.

  1. Aaron needs to go find a real job instead of trolling for a paid Nasty NatZ mob of gangsters who are divisive at their very core.

He is a “have & have not” pundit, so division is what they all feed on.

dividing us into separate groups of rich & poor is the past 1700’s policy which is destructive at its core, and any sociologist would tell Aaron so.

Wars occur through this past policy.

  2. Shame you can’t even get the award sponsor’s name right. With quality like that, no wonder you didn’t enter…

  3. May have restored credibility but made it rather boring (I was there) – an annual stoush for bragging rights between Kiwiblog, Whaleoil, TDB and The Standard should be permanently on the agenda!

  4. There may well be a case for ‘new wine in old bottles’ (or even ‘new wine in new bottles’) but there is no case whatsoever for ‘sour grapes’. Sadly, my six decades on this orbiting rock have taught me time and time again that the left favour arguing over irrelevant small details instead of presenting a unified front.
Your post Ball, merely reasserts that learning for me. I guess when you’re ready to grow up you might say something helpful to the cause.

  5. Never heard of him

But anyway last year a right wing blog won and so this year a left wing blog that I’ve never heard of gets the prize.

    What’s the problem?

    • Dr Jarrod Gilbert writes books about our culture (or lack of it) and lectures at Universary of Canterbury.
