Getting off to a late start here – like Winston’s own campaign – but things are looking pretty good.

http://www.electionresults.org.nz/electorate-35.html right now has Winston on nearly 7,000 to Osbourne’s just under 5,500.

Adam Holland, meanwhile, has exceeded my wildest expectations by polling 7.

********

24.5% counted.

Winston 7162, No-Hope on 5596.

This represents slight gain in pace for National, and a closing of the gap.

Willow-Jean Prime’s vote is 644 … less than a tenth of Winston’s.

I’d thus like to take a moment to thank all the Labour supporters in Northland who Backed Black.

Hope to have you returning to line up behind us in 2017 😉

Oh, and Adam Holland is still on 7.

*******

28.6% of the vote counted.

ACT and the Aotearoa Legalize Cannabis Party are dead even on 27.

*******

Continuing coverage of the Minor and Minnow parties…

Focus New Zealand (whom you may remember from Opening Night as the party headed by the man who recorded his party’s opening broadcast on a laptop with his pet budgie in the background) … is beating ACT. 57-31. Meanwhile, the Aotearoa Legalize Cannabis Party is only a single vote behind ACT on 30.

Looks like this result’s gonna give ACT a lot to Grieve about 😛

Feel kinda sorry for MANA, though … on 35.

Oh, and in a sudden surge, Adam Holland has gone from 7 votes to 8.

*******

40% in, and Winston’s lead is extending toward two thousand.

8283 to 6394.

I’m feeling good…

*******

We are at 51%, and Winston’s majority is now over 2,000.

To quote longtime NZF stalwart Josh Van Veen … “He hasn’t simply won – to use his phrase, he has “hosed in”.”

Quite.

*******

56% in, and Winston’s now over 2,200. There’s no stopping us now!

Meanwhile, in other news … ACT and the ALCP continue to be neck in neck. Colour me genuinely surprised there are apparently just as many imbecilic libertarians up in Northland as there are die-hard stoners who made it to the polls.

Adam Holland has surged to 9 … and in other minor party news, Willow Jean Prime is now on 849.

*******

This one’s going out to Mark Osbourne.

“I flew beyond the sun before it was time
Burning all the gold that held me inside my shell
Waiting for you to pull me back in
I almost had the world in my sight

Lost love
Bright eyes fading
Faster than stars falling
How can I tell you that I’ve failed?
Tell you I failed

Falling from grace cause I’ve been away too long
Leaving you behind with my lonesome song
Now I’m lost in oblivion

I tried to burrow a hole into the ground
Breaking all the fingers and the nails from my hands
The eyes of a child see no wrong
Ignorant bliss, impending doom

Lost love
Bright eyes fading
Faster than stars falling
How can I tell you that I’ve failed?
Tell you I failed

Falling from grace cause I’ve been away too long
Leaving you behind with my lonesome song
Now I’m lost in oblivion

*******

70.4% in. Winston is OVER NINE THOUSAND. 11,139, to be precise. Osbourne, meanwhile, is on 8416.

Josh Van Veen: “If this trend continues, he will get about 17,000 votes”.

HERE’S HOPING G!

*******

74%. Winston’s lead heading for points north of 3,000. Awesome.

Oh, and a last minute swelling for Adam Holland has him on 11.

*******

In Minor Party news, meanwhile … the ALCP is on 57. ACT is on 46.

THANK YOU NORTHLAND FOR PROVING STONERS ARE MORE DEMOCRATICALLY ORIENTED THAN LIBERTARIANS.

*******

Also interesting is the fact the Aotearoa Legalize Cannabis Party is now beating MANA 57-47.

Does this indicate MANA is a spent force in National politics?

Oh, and WIllow-Jean Prime slash Labour has just cracked a thousand.

*******

Well, I’m not sure how Mark Osbourne can come back from this. Hopefully, Key can’t, either 😀

A few choice lines from Iron Maiden’s The Mercenary spring to mind.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RodKGmkrOyg

“Pay to kill, die to lose
Hunter, hunted which are you
Diablo come again
To make trophies out of men
Lose your skin, lose your skull,
One by one the side-kicks fall.
In the heat dehydrate,
Know which breath will be your last

Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide […]

Human heart, human mind,
Intellect intertwined
Focus sharp in the night,
Watch the jungle burning bright
Toe to toe – toe the line,
Everyone’s caught hand tied
Iron will iron fist,
How could it have come to this?”

*******

84%, and Winston is on a majority of 3241 and damn near 13,000 votes.

Willow-Jean Prime, by contrast, is on 1090.

WHY DO YOU NOT GET TACTICAL VOTING, ONE THOUSAND NORTHLAND LABOURITIES?!?!

*******

Alright. We’re at 90+%. Winston’s on damn near 14,000. His majority is at 3612 and rising.

I’m gonna inflict some Hardcore on you. (The Dutch kind. Not the screaming tight-jeans ridiculous earings kind)

*******

ACT 60 … MANA 52.

Yup, I’m calling it. MANA is over.

*******

So given many if not most of Northland’s 3855 Green Party voters presumably ticked Winston this time around … proof that we’re not so different after all? #BlackGreen2017 #Compatibility

*******

How did Michael Cullen put it? “WE WON, YOU LOST … EAT THAT!”

*******

Right. I’m off to NZ First Youth’s Victory Party. But first … this one’s going out to you, Chief. Well done, Comrade!

particularly the last line: “THIS IS MY HOUR! DO YOU NOT KNOW DEATH WHEN YOU SEE IT?! DIE NOW!”

“Who can… Who can find you clear springs of waters, but I … but I can!
Who can… Who can tell you the age of the moon, but I … but I can!
Who can… Who can call the fish from the depths of the sea, yes I can!
Who can… Who can change the shapes of the shore and the headlands, I can!

I have … I have been a sword in the hand,
I have been a shield in a fight, and
I have been the string of a harp, and
I can shift my shape like a god.

Farewell!
Leave the shore to an ocean wide and untamed
Hold your shield high – let the wind bring your enemy your nightmare
By the bane of my blade, a mighty spell is made and
Far beyond the battle blood shall fall like a hard rain.

“And at the Gates, the Trumpets Rang…”

Farewell!
Leave the shore to an ocean wide and untamed
Hold your shield high – let the wind bring your enemy your nightmare
By the bane of my blade, a mighty spell is made and
Far beyond the battle blood shall fall like a hard rain.

Who can… Who can find you clear springs of waters, but I … but I can!
