You are cordially invited to the wake of Mrs Royal – it’s time to pay your disrespects to the town drunk.

ROYALS OF KIHIKIHI returns for a limited run after a critically acclaimed season with a workshopped script and new creative team re-imagining the story of Kihikihi’s Royals. Starring Chelsea McEwan Millar (WINE LIPS, GO GIRLS), Samuel Christopher (ROYALS OF KIHIKIHI, QUEEN), Cherie Moore (VERBATIM, THE LAST FIVE YEARS) and Renee Sheridan (SHORTLAND STREET, QUEENIE) and directed by Matt Baker (AN UNSEASONABLE FALL OF SNOW, MO AND JESS KILL SUSIE)

Welcome to the Royal household in sunny old Kihikihi, New Zealand where there’s plenty of cold beers, funny stories and a barney waiting to happen. Violet’s a hung over Kardashian fan, Wolfe is fresh out of his Sydney rehab and Pats would like, just for once, for everyone to get along. The good news is Mum’s finally dead. The bad news? She left a messy house with a lot of unfinished business behind and it’s been ten long years since the Royal children were all together.

“A wonderfully vicious Kiwi production that is filled with surprises, great one liners and lots of laughs.” – Johnny Givens, Theatreview
“A good introduction to a promising young playwright” – Janet McAllister, NZ Herald
“A brave and witty script” – Keeping up with NZ
“An absolutely stunning show” – The Daily Blog
