When will the Sabin issue explode in Key’s face?

The Mike Sabin situation will explode in Key’s face the moment the allegations against Sabin go public.

This is why Key is trying to put light years between himself and Sabin.

The perverse reality is that Sabin’s case may be completely secret and the public won’t hear what he is alleged to have done. The moment the public do become aware of what Sabin has been accused of doing, they will demand to know when Key knew what and if he was aware of it before the election.

The issue will immediately be should Key have told the country rather than have allowed the people of Northland get played by Sabin.

Surely the people of Northland should know what their previous MP has been accused of doing and question how National handled that before they vote in the by-election?

Surely?

  1. We can but hope this is the blow to be dealt to Key which will see him gone for good.

You can’t tell me, none of the ministers who knew about this investigation, didn’t ask the name of the alleged offender, or weren’t aware it was Sabin!

Any fool would want to know who it was!

I don’t believe for a minute, the police didn’t advise Key first and tell him who the investigation was concentrating on and why! To not do so, would have led to speculation and put suspicion on other Natsy MPs!

Did anyone else notice the Speaker of the House Carter jump on and reprimand Andrew Little in Parliament yesterday (Tues 10 Feb), when the Labour leader alluded to the issue?

Some very serious backside covering going on here!

  2. Surely indeed but realistically what are the chances of that happening. Key and the msm will just continue to do their best Officer Babrady, “Nothing to see hear folks, move along”. He will then just continue to lie and ofuscate and then get the police and everyone else to lie to cover his lies. Meanwhile the sleepy sheople will get on with their peaceful lives blissfully unaware that Key and his Government are the most decietful and currupt government New Zealand has ever had. After all he seems like a great bloke eh and he gets his photo taken with the All Blacks and heaps of famous people eh so he must be ok eh, and at the world cup he stood with the All Blacks and sang the national anthem eh so he might be an All Black even, WICKED and those bloody lefties are all conspiracy theorists anyway eh. Sad but true. I dearly hope that one day people will wake up but after the revelations in Dirty Politics failed to even put a dent in him I no longer hold my breath.

  3. We in Northland only hear rumors, but I have been told the National party membership has dropped.

Key stitched the discussion up in parliament by putting suppression orders on the subject of Sabin ,other cases before the courts ie John Banks had no suppression orders on his case. Key knows he lied when he said he only heard late in 2014,if Mps are allowed to discuss it , he will have more lies added to his list.
So tired of smart arsed Key thinking he can control everything, people are not fooled except Herald so called journalists, who are still trying to influence public opinion, especially now a byelelection is close.
We are having Willow Jean Prime as Labour candidate by the sound of it ,but we don’t know anything about her, how can people vote for someone we don’t know.

    • Ms Prime is a Far North District Councillor. In her second term. She was Labour’s candidate in last year’s election, she ran a good campaign ion a severely restricted budget and increased Labour’s vote by 2000. None of this information is difficult to come by if you read the local giveaway papers in whichever
part of Northland you reside. Her family are tangagta whenua , educated and active community members.

  4. I live in Northland. I’d bet that the people of Northland who vote National would vote for Sabin even if he was found guilty of something pretty horrible, maybe involving kittens or children. Or both.

  5. Certain international websites, who feel they are outside New Zealand law, freely name offenders who through their own f#@%ery obtain name suppression.

International websites may well operate outside NZ legal jurisdiction, but THE DAILY BLOG does not. If name suppression has been granted by a NZ Court, to a NZ citizen, then alluding to who it might be places this website and it’s administrators in a difficult position. In 2010, blogger Cameron Slater was charged and found guilty on nine charges of breaking Court suppression orders. That should serve as a salient lesson to other blogsites. In view of that, anything that refers to the identity of the suppression order will not be published on TDB. I will review current postings to see if I or other admin have missed a possible violation of a Court order. Please think carefully before making a post. Thank you. – ScarletMod

  6. “Sabin’s issue explodes in John Key’s face” sounds like the hookline to the gay porn scandal of the century.

  7. Latest news from our Corruptocracy…

Prominent NZer in court granted name suppression and details made “secret”. Definition of Secret: “Compromise of information would damage national interests in a serious manner”.

16 National MP’s do not stand at last election.

Senior Northland Cop jailed in Dec 14 – Stealing goodies from the lockup (links to MS? they no doubt would have worked together on “things”)

Ian Fletcher resigns as head of GCSB suddenly. Timing is curious. (JK’s school friend although JK can’t remember him)

    Mike Sabin resigns suddenly.

Speaker of house shuts Andrew Little down in the house for alluding to this situation.

Shonkey will be hoping this lands jelly side up but I don’t like his chances. Get your popcorn ready folks.

  8. I reside in Northland and IMO all the rwn jobs may still vote national because as one said to me “its his private life, nothing to do with politics, I am not interested in hearing gossip” FFS really!!
I fear this world is run by greedy men and women, commonly know as the national party, who have no humility or thought for their fellow humans.
Maybe High Court judge Lowell Goddard next job will be here in Nz after she cleans up England and Wales.

  9. A clear thing about name suppression is that it now only applies to a very narrow category of crimes.

Recent amendments mean that name suppression is not granted for a bit of “biffo” even within a family, no matter how well-known the perpetrator might be.

It is now only to protect innocent parties.

A bit of searching will give people a clear idea of the new parameters.

    • Yeah we do know up here what Sabin has done. It’s so frustrating Key is sitting on this stinking pile of shyte. However it’s not just about Sabin and for that reason I agree with a partial suppression . i.e the people involved apart from Sabin and the nature of some of the charges.
