Eminem vs National Party

National Party in court next week with Eminem
Eminem’s legal action against the National Party will have its first day in court next week, with lawyers for both sides meeting to discuss process.

Less than a week before the election Detroit-based Eminem Publishes announced it was suing National for alleged copyright infringement, arguing its original rowing-themed advertisement had a riff similar to that of Lose Yourself, the theme song for 8 Mile in which Eminem played a struggling rapper.

National responded that it believed it had correctly licensed the song from bodies which were established to represent the rights of artists in this part of the world.

 

For a Government that broke laws left right and centre to arrest Kim Dotcom for copyright infringement, watching National get sued by Eminem for taking his music is just too gorgeous  for words.
