Who is the terrorist?

  1. The Terrorists are those who oppress and control much of the populated world, create more pollution per head of population. have bases in over 150 countries, have profited from every war they have run over the last century killing millions and have now settled to a pattern of promulgating increasing fear, poverty for the masses and draconian control of the media and public opinion.
They also display open disdain for life , dignity and survival of he human race, while asset stripping globally and locally.

Wake up, you are being manipulated into a deep state from which recovery is not likely.

    We have one as PM.

    • You write like someone who has never travelled or even own a passport, but since this is the dailyblog, Im sure you will get a ton of likes for the BS you have just wrote.

  2. The terrorists are the leaders that gas tens of thousands of people, the terrorists are the one that kidnap and rape and woman and children in the name of religion.

The terrorists are the ones that allow no protests or dissent from its citizens.

The terrorists are the one that behead aid workers and Jounros.

The terrorists are the ones who kill people because they cant quote a line from a book.

It has nothing to do with if your country leans towards capitalism instead of socialism.

  3. Well said John W.

You may notice the personal attack which is often and indicator of inability to cope with others opinion.

How can the world be a better place when war waged on a permanent basis by the US and its bedfellows defies any credibility for the sham of US democracy.. The US people are so disillusioned that less than half of them vole..

    Figure it out.

  4. Well , here’s something new . An outpouring by idiots . Dan , Mike and Ken . Wouldn’t you just love to be marooned on a deserted island with these dopes .

The grammar alone sends most a message . And that message is ‘ Duh ! ‘ .

” Advocates of capitalism are very apt to appeal to the sacred principles of liberty, which are embodied in one maxim ; The fortunate must not be restrained in the exercise of tyranny over the unfortunate . ” Bertrand Russell .

But what would he know aye @ Dan , Mike and Ken ? Are you Flower Pot Men by any chance ? Serious question .

    • Um..sorry ??? I will take another tact. In a world such as what we have, someone will always be the policemen of the world. That is just the way it is. I will take what we have over anything you are offering Countryboy.

  5. Dan, Mike, and Ken, once you’ve lived in a one party state where freedom is curtailed in favour of “security”, you kinda change your ideas a bit.

It’s disappointing that some New Zealanders (and I assume you three are New Zealanders) are so willing to support state power when faced with bogeymen which either do not exist, or exist a world away.

Funny how this country kept it’s head after the Trades Hall Bombing and Rainbow Warrior Bombing – our only recent acts of violent terrorism – and yet we’ve seen four pieces of legislation in the last six years boosting search and surveillance powers of state agencies.

We’ve had no domestic act of violent terrorism during that time.

And even if we did – curtailing our own freedom and privacy simply because of random acts of violence simply plays into the hands of the perpetrators.

Why do we resist fanatical groups?

Because we want to preserve our way of life.

So why do we then pass laws which radically change our way of life…?

And every time we do that, who wins?

    • Frank, I do know where you are coming from, but I disagree.”One party state” – I am sure I am not along when I thought right up to the last election that it was Labours to loose. Bogeymen are no more than a plane ride away, the world is a small place, and logic does not seem to have much to do in respect of being a target. As for my restricted freedoms, I cant say that I have been affected at all, and as for laws that radically change our way of life.Nope, havent seen those laws either.

      • DAN, You seem to be forgetting that the “loose” opposition Labour party voted alongside the government for the recent legislation, after minor changes were made.
You say you “havent seen those laws either”, of course not they are not on the books yet, but they may come.
Here’s an analogy for you… when cancerous cells first invade one’s lungs it’s presence isn’t even noticed because there are no nerve endings in the lungs to transmit pain. Symptoms, such as a shortest of breathe, can only be diagnosed by a chest X-ray which will show the presence of cancer. By this time the cancer may have already spread to other parts of the body and death is (a fascist state ?) inevitable.

        • OK mate, I cant spell, sorry. Never could. (Labour was government for most of my schooling) The election was Labours to lose. If you do not like National, or Labour, you will never be in a position of power anyway. As for laws that “may come” yep, so might Santa. With the greatest of respect, your analogy of a medical issue is in my view, not relevant. Anyway, thanks for the chat, best wishes for the new year. Regards.Dan

          • I cant spell, sorry. Never could. (Labour was government for most of my schooling)

            LMAO!!

Sorry, not laughing at your spelling in/ability (I’m the last one to point a finger in that direction) – but at referencing Labour whilst you were in school. Really?! I mean, really?!?!

Heck, National was in power for most of my schooling – what does that suggest?

          • All the best to you also, DAN.
Sorry you didn’t find my medical analogy relevant, unfortunately it’s very relevant to me, so this year I’m taking a page out of your book by spelling “Erry Christmas” without the “M” !
You’re quite right to say we seem to be doomed to be governed by Labour or National for the foreseeable future or, heaven forbid, a combination of the two-headed monster. My darling daughter bought me Russel Brand’s “Revolution” for Xmas (with the “love” high lighted and mirror written in revolution; with his reputation he could have also used the “r”) , so perhaps he has the answer. Yeah, right, but at least there’s no more “beeries” for him these days.

            • P.S. Please don’t feel self conscious about you spelling, after all it’s said that our arguably greatest English playwright would sign his name in too many ways to shake a spear at…Shakyspeare.
More of a worry is some of the simplistic opinions you express.

              • Simplistic or realistic?. The multifarious assortment of people whom make up our parliament all have a voice and like to be heard. Trouble is, unless you are part of one of the big two, your voice does not get heard, or at least not enough to encourage change. The Maori party learnt this years ago when they joined with National for a term or two. As I have said before, it is undemanding coming from a point of view where you know you do not have the stanchion to succeed, and are by default more of an annoying squeak, whom will never carry the load or consequence of real responsibility.

              • PPS my darling daughter now tells me that the book was given to her by Santa to hand on to me. Proof to my naive ears that indeed Santa “may come” !
