I. Dont. Understand.

Cameron Slater makes a complaint to the NZ Police that his emails were hacked and stolen on August 28th. By October 2nd, the NZ Police had 5 Officers search Nicky Hager’s house for 10 hours. That’s 36 days.

That’s unbelievable isn’t it?

Put aside the fact the Greens made a complaint on the 14th August and Labour made a complaint on the 1st September.

Put aside the fact that the issues the Greens and Labour are complaining about are serious abuses of power. Those  allegations concern Undermining of the Serious Fraud Office, Undermining of the Financial Markets Authority, Undermining of the head of the SFO, Intimidation of witnesses, including Mr Gapes, Use of personal information regarding Simon Pleasants to incite threats, In respect of the Minister, the corrupt use of personal information regarding Simon Pleasants to obtain an advantage (section 105A of the Crimes Act), Use of that information (section 105B of the Crimes Act), Accessing the Labour Party computer system in breach of section 249 and 252 of the Crimes Act, The use of dynamic (ie changing) email and computer addresses to avoid detection and the handing over of SIS info to Cameron Slater that went well outside the normal protocols for such information.

Put aside the indifference police treated the theft of Matthew Blomfield who had his emails stolen and handed to Whaleoil – warning, this link will make you ill.

Put all that aside. Let’s compare the Police response for Slater’s emails to the of their response to the stolen emails of Don Brash.

In June 2007, Brash was told 9 months after making his complaint over the stolen emails that made up Nicky Hager’s book, The Hollow Men, that there was no progress on his case, and in fact closed the case 3 months after that.

Let’s just consider that for a moment. Far right hate speech merchant, Cameron Slater whom the PM calls regularly and describes as ‘colourful’, gets his complaint actioned within 36 days with a 5 cop, 10 hour search. Don Brash, the leader of the Opposition at the time, gets nothing after a year.

If anyone would get a theft of their emails actioned in close to month, shouldn’t it have been the Leader of the Opposition at that time? How on earth is Slater important enough to have his complaint actioned so quickly? Doesn’t this all start to smell smelly?

Whose interests are the NZ Police acting in here?

    • Wonder if the Police have even been back in touch with the Greens about the complaint that they laid two weeks before Slaters. I read somewhere yesterday, that Judith Collins has been writing comments on the Whale Oil Blog. Any body have any idea what her username is?

  1. Apart from the fact our stasi police force is in the pocket of FJK, just as msm is, let’s face it, if Cameron Slater doesn’t get what he wants, he can turn quite hostile and feral on anyone he chooses to attack!

So with this last point in mind, I’d say FJK owed Mr Whaleoil a favour and this was payback, to get his complaint fast tracked, which also would have suited FJK, to get something on Hager, in the hope of bringing down Rawshark.

FJK knows only too well, not to mess with a mad, nasty, vicious attack dog, whose bite hurts real bad!

  2. Hone Harawira had his office shot at and the police dismissed it as a local madman or something similar. After his car crash they mulled the possibility of charging him. Would they have dismissed someone shooting at John Key’s office as a local madman. Not likely. We are in danger of heading down the US path where there is one police response for the well connected and another for those who oppose the status quo or are just unconnected.
