JustSpeak Election Forum

TDB Recommends NewzEngine.com

Leading up to this year’s election, we want to hear from parties as to their plans for New Zealand’s justice system. If you’re Auckland-based, we’d love for you to join us next Thursday at 6:30pm for our 2014 Election Forum, at the Auckland Old Folks Association just off Karangahape Road, round the corner from The Thirsty Dog.

We have invited politicians to share their ideas about what “works” in the criminal justice sector, how our society shapes and responds to offending, and their thoughts about parties’ proposed legislation.

We have a great line-up, including:

Chester Borrows (Associate Justice Minister, National),
Andrew Little (Spokesperson for Justice, Labour),
David Clendon (Spokesperson for Justice, Green Party),
Asenati Lole-Taylor (Spokesperson for Corrections, NZ First),
David Seymour (ACT),
Rangi McLean (Māori Party),
Gil Ho (Internet Party),
John Minto (MANA).

For those who can’t make it on the night, we invite you to ask the candidates a question in advance by leaving it as a comment on this event page. We will also be running a live twitter-feed on the night.

Share this event around and let’s push our political leaders to make the change we want to see in the justice system!
