Did the Maori Party know Te Ururoa Flavell had ended discussions between Maori Party & MANA?

I’m sorry, what?

The Māori Party says uniting as one party together with Mana is not an option, saying they should remain separate.

According to co-leader of the Māori Party Te Ururoa Flavell, “The decision has been made by the leaders of both the Māori Party and Mana, that we should not unite as one party given that Mana refuses to work with National.”

Really, the decision was made by the leaders of the Maori Party and MANA that they shouldn’t unite as one? Really, because insiders within MANA say no such agreement was made and that in fact the two Party’s were still in negotiation before Flavell just came out and announced this.

Media should be asking the Maori Party’s Ken Mair if MANA leadership had really decided that or if Flavell has moved unilaterally and just made an announcement without consulting the rest of his Party.

Flavell clearly wants no relationship with MANA and announcing that any decision was made while negotiations were still underway is something that needs scrutiny.

  1. Te Uruora Flavell was behind getting Hone kicked out of the Maori Party. He always sought Hones position, and as long as Hone remained in the Party, Te Ururoa was never ever going to be top dog.

  2. Tautoko Hone Harawira and MANA. Te Ururoa Flavell, you are a part of the KUPAPA maori within the walls of that compound called the BEEHIVE. Would I want you representing me? I doubt it..Hone’s mana is too strong for you e hoa, time you stepped down and disappeared into oblivion..you’ve been in BED for too long with KEYS..hoha ana koe.

  3. Mana needs to find a way to get the members of the Maori Party on board, without worrying about the kupapa at the top. I think this is happening anyway and Te Ureroa will be discarded in the ipupara of history. Of course, the MP have blotted their copybook by helping NAct, but others such as Sealord Jones will do even more damage, if allowed.

  4. Disabled Liberation has always felt that it was in fact, the Maori Party that left its MANA behind when it was clear it was time to withdraw from the coalition.

While Hone has a big mouth, his heart is just as big. On the other hand, DLANZ see Tariana Turia as a major influence in not having better relations with Mana, Labour or even Greens. I feel her Associate roles are showing a conflict of interests with her Ministerial portfolios.

We have a Minister of Whanau Ora and also as Minister of Disability Issues being the Associate Minister of Housing where tenants of HCNZ, including disabled families, are kicked out of their homes in Glen Innes……….”Where Tariana is the Manaakitanga??”

DLANZ asked her to resign and withdraw a year ago and we’re still waiting

    Keep smiling…….dougie
