In Parliament today, Labour leader David Cunliffe delivered a powerful speech claiming the National-led Government has reached its tipping point.

If he’s right, National is on its way out… and the opposition bloc is a government in waiting.

Definitely well worth watching.

  1. Very pretty!

Now, if David Cunliffe could be persuaded to simplify his questions into one point per question mark – unless he has a better mouse-trap waiting for ministers who choose the ‘easy sound bite’ option… (Russell Norman learned his craft well under Lockwood Smith. No wiggle room, generally, in his questions.)

And Annette King’s rapid riposte when Tony Ryall started a question with a nasty comment. Yum!

There’s definitely a new and better atmosphere about the Opposition. All those little grins when David Carter was being given his dose of polite disrespect. Hope HE gets the ‘point of order’. He’s almost as bad as Margaret Wilson as Speaker.

  2. I watched the same session yesterday and was quite impressed with the new vitality Labour seems to have now. There was certainly a sharp rejuvenation there, some spark, which has been lacking for ages.

Seems the new leadership with Cunliffe in charge has given Labour the kick start it badly needed. I look forward to more of the same feisty debates as yesterday, many of which involved obviously biased Speaker Carter, being held to task!

A united and fired up Labour was going for it yesterday afternoon, giving it to the Gnats. Great to watch.

Good one Labour. Keep the spark going and there will be enough fire to form a government next year.
