The Prime Minister’s assurance that the GCSB will only be able to spy on New Zealanders under a warrant from the Prime Minister or Director General of Security and Intelligence is a half-truth which falls apart under scrutiny.
In the case where the GCSB is spying on behalf of the police, the SIS or Defence Force this could be the case but under its new expanded functions in the GCSB and TICS (Telecommunications Interception Capability and Security) Bills it is empowered to gather all data from “information structures” (ie internet companies) related to New Zealanders electronic communications.
To search this data the GCSB will require a warrant in most circumstances but through “access authorisation” and co-operation with foreign partner agencies the data will be automatically available to the US National Security Agency for search without warrant.
The National Security Agency says “if you are looking for a needle in a haystack then you need access to the whole haystack” and the GCSB role is to provide access to the New Zealand section of the haystack.

Monday night’s Town Hall public meeting will further expand on this international surveillance and search of New Zealanders’ private data.

I watched him talk to Rachel Smally ( The temptation to call her Smelly is almost too great . ) on TV Joyce this morning …
Key said [ Not verbatim but close enough ] ‘ Look , all those people at the Auckland town hall last night , left of the political spectrum , so ya know … ? ‘
A moment to lubricate his forked tongue , he then went on to say …
… ‘ Well , the GCSB law changes , aw , tch , ya know . God , it’s a pity yous are so dumb that I have to got to the trouble of spelling it out . ( I invented that last bit ) ;
He did however say ,
” Lets say there was a terrorist attack on Auckland Airport tomorrow night . Mark my words , all those left wing people , including David Shearer , they’d all head for the hills , then people would blame the government for not acting sooner . ”
Well , just let me point out a couple of small things here Jonky ? I can call you jonky ? You don’t mind ? Cool .
Firstly , John Key has been more disastrous , more destructive and more deadly to New Zealanders and their way of life than virtually any other Prime Minister I can think of . And he does it all for money . No , no . Not his feeble Prime Ministers salary . For his millions and millions he has salted away . ( I reckon he’s a heart beat away from being found out . ) He is The terrorist !
Hekia Parata has done terrible things to the education opportunities of our kids . If those kids don’t come from filthy rich homes , they’re fucked . Let me quote Jonky .

They’re fucked for the want of a comprehensive education and they’re fucked because as yet undamaged kids have to now hang with the kids of the Damaged . Those poor little buggers from alcoholic homes , P homes and homes who only know poverty . Where the kids are being baby sat by the TV in the lounge while mum is in the spare room hooking for the power bill . And we all know that kids are more affected by their peer group than Mum and/ or dad . If they’re lucky enough to come from a two parent home .

Anne Tolly . ‘ Corrections Minister . ‘ She works in nicely with Judy . She’s not wanting to correct anyone . That would be too forward thinking and it’d cause less recidivism thus less profits for Serco . And if you’ve ever been in business you’ll know how important repeat business is . She’s heard of Spain and it’s progressive , healing prison system . It actually works to stop re offending . It works because prisoners are shown how so much easier it is to be a human being . Not damaged , abused and forgotten . Instead of the worthless pieces of shit we’re all told we should see prisoners as being to sate our cravings for psychologically installed vengeance .
